Naughty Bits Art! Tatewaki Kuno & Kiima: Bird Brains

Kiima's assistance is requested by Tatewaki Kuno! What problem could the Blue Thunder have that requires her expert attention? Here's a hint, it's most FOWL! 😉

Seeking to improve his swordsmanship, Tatewaki Kuno has spared no expense acquiring a Legendary Phoenix egg. The legend claims that the egg's owner will posses the means to unleash the "Sword of the Phoenix", an arcane technique so powerful that even Ranma would be hapless in the face of its splendor.

When the egg hatches, however, it produces a yellow chick that nests firmly on Kuno's head! Good thing he has a thick skull, right? 😛

Despite the bizarre development, the legend proves true. The Phoenix helps Kuno easily repel his rival in persistent battles, displaying a relentless hostility towards Saotome that eclipses even his own, but ultimately becomes an insufferable headache when the inseparable bird makes the connection that Ranma-chan is Ranma-kun!

Now, Kuno must rid himself of this fowl menace or risk never embracing the Fair Pigtailed Girl! In our twisted take, Kuno turns to "the bird expert" for help!

This comic page is based on the manga's "Phoenix Sword Arc", which became the basis for the 3rd and final Ranma film "Team Ranma vs. the Legendary Phoenix". In the USA, that film was released as part of the Ranma OVA collection due to its short length of 25 minutes, but is well worth a watch for those who haven't seen it before. 😊

Remastering details:

• Remastered in UHD. Improved clarity in 4K over 2019 Edition. Specifically, all panels have been re-matted to be sharper.

• Numerous splotch & noise cleanup.

• Kuno's eye color now more visibly blue.

• Mouth style adjusted to current standards. The interior of the bird's mouth has improved color accuracy.

• Complete layout rebuild. Vast empty space has been reduced for a tighter, more intimate feeling. One such example: Kiima is larger in the bottom left panel.

• With the layout changing, dialog balloons have been redone as well.
