CRITICAL PRODUCTION UPDATE

UPDATE (10-06-2025): SHADE's work computer is now back in action, though the cost was a bit higher than we would have hoped. For those who want to help out with that, please consider upgrading to Master pledge this month as we'll set aside some funding to help SHADE out with the bill.

Finally some GOOD news! With the workstation churning out backgrounds again, we've been able to resume art production! The next pinup set, Cat Catchers, shall be posted this same day. Thanks for everyone's patience and support!

We have sad news to share today.

Our planned art release, "Cat Catchers" starring Akane, Shampoo & Ranma-chan has been delayed. Art is ready for assembly (drawn and colored). The problem is that we can't assemble it because the Ranmabooks work computer (owned by team member SHADE) which does backgrounds, dialog balloons, and final assembly encountered a CPU cooling failure (the all-in-one liquid cooling pump is dead).

Despite spending considerable time troubleshooting SHADE's computer, the only solution was to have its liquid cooling system replaced. So that computer is now in the shop.

The new CPU cooling system will be installed later this week. Our goal is to resume releases once it's fixed. On a side note, air cooling way less headache than water cooling. 😮‍💨

The team apologizes for this delay which was beyond our control.

Please understand that while the RHB has a backup computer which can do some things, such as dialog balloons, it's not powerful enough to render backgrounds Ranmabooks currently uses in 4K. We're stuck.

However, art production continues. Artists are still drawing and coloring the planned projects. And once the computer is back online, we'll begin assembling everything and releasing art at an accelerated pace.

It's been a really long time since a computer problem affected releases. 2017 was the last, when we started a "help SHADE get a new computer" fund. Hopefully we are not in that situation again this time and the repairs can be done at reasonable expense.

As the community is aware, ALL FUNDS from pledges go towards line art and color production costs. SHADE doesn't get paid, which means he has to foot the bill for all computer repairs out of his own pocket. We're not currently asking for help with that, but if the bills are greater than we expect, it's not out of question that we might ask for community support in some fashion. Right now, we're trying to do this on our own. Maintaining your pledge is all we can ask.

We're taking all possible steps to get assembly going again so that we can post new art for the community. We appreciate everyone's patience and support during this fragile period. We've been doing this for two decades. Rest assured, the project shall continue... once the Ranmabooks work computer is back online.
