AI Assistance is here.

So I will be announcing this publicly soon on Twitter
But I am incorporating AI at varying degrees into my workflow!

From pure AI generations which I edit myself by hand to make them more unique and less soulless, to completely weaving AI into my traditional workflow so that the final result is virtually seamless, creating not just a higher quality piece, but creating it faster than my usual pace!

I have to say the results have been really pleasing and I'm excited to see what I make this year!

The $5 tier will soon become a sketch AND AI tier, where you will see sketches as well as AI generations every month.

I won't stop delivering comics either for the higher tiers
Comic posts took a bit of a hiatus due to burnout, but I am back on the grind with Sweet & Sour, and more comic goodies are coming out soon!

Because of the speed and efficiency that AI is granting me, I will be opening requests for the $20 Tier going forward.
Anyone at that tier can request anything at any time.
I will produce my favorite ideas, (not every idea will be realized)
These requests will be available for the lower tiers after a short early access period.
So now the higher tier patrons a chance to see things they really want to see!

Hope you will climb aboard this year!

I'm just adapting to the market. I'm offering cheap AI for those that like that stuff. I'm still making my own art, albeit yes, using sprinkles of AI to augment it for speed and efficiency, but for those pieces I strive to keep my visual signature present. The Heavy AI pieces (That still have my hand in in it mind you, I do not create or post pure AI art) are just cheap food for people that frankly, want and enjoy cheap food, and are prepared to pay a cheap price for it. I don't see anything wrong with that. The good stuff is still available for those who want to support me for it. And I'm not intending to knock you hard for not supporting me financially. I never shame people for not having the means. But the optics of being extremely vocal about opinions without skin in the game, looks bad to me. You get what I mean? Keep in mind I'm sure you, and many like you, pirate my (and other hard working artist's content) on the regular so forgive us if we are trying to adapt and cope with the ever increasing demand and the also never ceasing theft. And for the record, the anatomy mistakes the AI make, I often make myself. My original work is riddled with major and minor mistakes, its just about trying not to make them or making them less obvious. The fact that you see mistakes in that AI generation, speaks more to me than the AI, as I personally went over it and actively tried to correct the mistakes it made. So if its present, there's just as much human error in it as there is artificial.

None of that was supposed to be a shot at you and I do apologize if you took it that way. All that word salad was directed solely at the laziness of AI and it's glaring defects, and like you said the people willing to pay for it's low quality who are putting your feet to the coals, and the last part was me NOT wanting that to be a case for you, you have art dated well before this shit started to take off in 2022 so only a fool would confuse you for one of the AI shills peddling their crap. I truly do wish this place would step in and ban AI generated images (even fanbox of all places had the common sense to do that) so you weren't competing with these bad actors, but since they get a cut of the profits and there are more and more cropping up each day I don't see that happening at this point. Honestly, I don't hate the idea of AI generated imagery (I ain't calling it art though), but the state its in right now is subpar at best, and unfortunately so many people are hopping on the trend that there's little to no motivation for the developers of these programs to improve on it, especially if they're somehow making a profit off of it (it's like getting paid for the bare minimum), I sadly don't see it improving any time soon with how many people are blindly alright with it in the primitive state it's already in.

I love that introducing AI has generated more feedback and engagement than any of my other non AI posts :') By love I mean hate. Post sweat blood and tears art... no one says anything create a couple little pics with some AI help and everyone loses their minds!

TheDirtyMonkey

Thank you for your comment Jace, as a free supporter not currently supporting me or has ever supported me if I am reading your profile correctly. Its great when I have professional art critics and anatomy experts in my Patreon. I hope you will subscribe so that I can benefit further from your insights! To your credit, the second picture IS absolutely lazy. That's the point. There are tonnes of AI art consumers out there, paying non artists (more than me go figure!) for AI generations just like that one. I'm just making those every now and then to compete for the pie. I find it incredibly ironic that you talk of artists utilizing AI (which we do to compete) and here you are on my patreon free post, not supporting me financially, but feeling entitled enough to leave such a vitriolic comment on a post and question my reputation as an artist. Your opinions on AI are your own and I'm not here to change your mind, but have some humility and self awareness.

TheDirtyMonkey

Yeah sorry, but picture two is exactly what I'm afraid of when an artist starts looking into AI "assitance", it's those same glaringly obvious gloss and light filters all AI using that one specific model/build have, its a dead give away, and as soon as I see that shit my brain instinctively starts looking for hand/foot deformities or clothing errors. And in this case it's the right wrist and boob not deforming correctly for the position they're in once you get past the bracelet, causing her wrist to basically turn into a twig while her boob seem unfazed creating a clipping effect, and as for the left hand, that's defying bone structure too, her fingers seem almost perfectly vertical with the back of the doorframe(?) while the bottom of her palm is still visible on the front of it, only way you're doing that is if half the bones in your hand are broken, then there's the left side of her panties being broken, the bracelets being different (but of course that could simple be ignored as a stylistic choice). AI can be a fine tool to assist an artist but when it comes to shit like that, it damages your reputation as an actual artist, by letting obvious flaws like this sneak under the radar.

i dunno. I need to see a actual comic page, something canon, to be able to say this is cool, or i dunno. Dont feel "you", you know. i know what upu say its a better quality pic, but that better quality...it aint you. And i cant unsee it. Sorry, i know this aint the first time we discuss this, but for top tier content, i would preffer you keep it classi,z

Tinhy

There is varying degrees of AI used in these pics There will be varying degrees of AI used in my pieces going forward

TheDirtyMonkey

like the first sarah and second one dont look alike in a couple of features. There's like no continuity.

Tinhy

Those 3 are ai. is this what you plan to do for comics, etc?

Tinhy

If I'm gonna use it I wanna use it ethically, which means to me, still being very personally and creatively involved in the process, and definitely I want to be transparent. Im not here to trick or dupe anyone. I just want people to have an open mind and allow me to "sell" the idea to you before you decide to stay backing me or not <3

TheDirtyMonkey

I commend you for this choice and for your transparency, I hope the luddites don't flame you too hard
