Update #63 - New Year Plus

Another year has come and gone but a new year is right around the corner! With a new year comes a fresh start, a new beginning - and that's our theme for our first major theme starting next month: Trainers that are starting their journeys and their first Partner Moemon, i.e., the Starter lines from every Generation.

But wait! We already have a few sets that are up-to-date and don't require any reworks such as Gen 1 and Gen 9, so they won't be receiving much attention, unless they need something fixed. Additionally, some sets like Gen 4 and Gen 5 are mostly good, but require some minor fixes - particularly the Oshawott line, but more on that later.

The Gen 2 mons are partially complete, with Cyndaquil's line being the most recent update. Totodile is also fairly decent, but may require some fixes or updates. The biggest of these is Chikorita's line, which requires a complete rework.

By far the oldest sets and the ones needed a rework by far, including both a body update and outfit adjustment - but more importantly, they're way overdue for a rework on their Mega forms.

Although the original sprites are still incredible, we actually have a second set since the team has since split apart and some of the artists aren't allowing the other team to use their work, so replacements had to be made. Due to that, we basically have X and Y forms, like Charizard canonically has.

Although the designs are both based on the same original Megas, there's enough difference in them that I actually want to make both versions of them. I suppose that could change, but for now at least I'm determined to make both outfits - whether they are separate cards are not we'll have to wait and see.

As mentioned above, the Oshawott line needs some minor updates, but Samurott in particular has been technically broken since shortly after release, as some of the mods used for her were either updated or removed and half of her outfit isn't working for some. Because of this, the whole line should be overhauled.

Perfect chance to do Hisuian Samurott, too.

Finally, the long awaited Gen 6 starters (well, the other 2/3rds of them) will be arriving as well. Yes, we did technically do Froakie's line already, but it'll be slightly updated as well.

Ash's Greninja will be released though!

For Gen 7, Rowlet's line will finally be released as the sprites have finally completed, and I want to take an opportunity to rework the Litten line, since that's fairly outdated.

Hisuian Decidueye will also be arriving!

Finally, an update to the Scorbunny line is overdue as well. Unfortunately, the Grookey line from Gen 8 is still not complete, which means until then we won't actually be able to finish all the Starters, but hopefully it can be done soon.

The Starter mons aren't the only things being released for this theme. As mentioned, we'll also be seeing the trainers that start their journeys - an update to old releases like May, Dawn, Lyra, Red, etc, but also all the newest girls, including long-awaited ones like Rosa.

 Even Liko, our newest protagonist from the Anime, which already saw a release not long ago, actually has some mods available that I might throw on one of her outfit slots.

As usual, there's plenty more than this - tomorrow there's one final release, a Legendary that's hinted at in the above screenshot, and some more subsequent winter releases like Vanillite's line and possibly Beartic, but these are the focus for the New Year and first coming months, alongside other Legendaries and others - all subject to change, but here's a sneak peek!
