Year of the Snake!

Happy Lunar New Year everyone! It's officially the end of the Dragon and the beginning of the Snake! So really, not MUCH different, I think. Still, with it comes a new mini-series that we're starting for the course of this year: Sneks!

Actually, there's really only a handful of Snake Moemon, or Snake-like Moemon, most of which have actually already been released. Still, there's enough room for content, so let's look at some.

The original sneks, Ekans and Arbok, went through a few updates already very early on, with their last release being, like, four years ago. It's way past time for an update, and as you can see in the screenshot above, it's coming along much nicer, including a hand-painted Arbok-patterned veil. Their set will be released when ready.

Next up is the Rock Snake Onix and her Steel Snake evolution, Steelix. Similarly, these two have released in the past, as well as their Mega Evolution, but based on original designs that are no longer necessary since they finally received some sprite works.

The complexity of them will require several days, though, so it'll be broken into at least two releases.

Wait, make that three releases. We'll do Crystal Onix regional variant as well.

There's a couple miscellaneous releases that should be updated. And yes, Dunsparce is a "Land Snake".

The Royal Serpent line may see an update, because it's a little outdated.

As far as actual NEW releases, there's the Sand Snakes of Gen 8, Silicobra and Sandaconda. I'm actually really looking forward to these since Sandaconda gives that Sinon-esque vibe from SAO.

There's a number of others that MIGHT qualify, but it's debatable. For example, does Huntail and Gorebyss count as Snakes, or are they Eels? Are Eels snakes? What about Dratini and Dragonair, which.. I mean, they're "Dragons", but essentially just legless/armless lizards, right? So.. Snakes? But we aren't going to redo them, since they just got done recently. Does Gyrados count? and if they do, does Milotic count?

And if Milotic counts, which design do we go with? BOTH?

On top of this, one of the conveniently (and inconveniently) timed coincidences is that Zygarde 50% forme is considered a snake. Whoa! What a coincidence, we just released Xerneas, Yveltal is next, Zygarde should be right after, yes?

No. We don't have any sprites for Zygarde, which really sucks because it would have been perfect timing considering- Oh, WAIT, we do have one!

Oh, and it's her 50% forme, too. Heh, sorry. Guess I missed it. Well, how can you blame me? There's 1,000s of sprites and 3 different Moemon teams and everything is disorganized and I'm only one person and and.. t_t

Anyways, that's about all of it for now.. There might be a handful of others that will be released for the series, but let's not get too crazy. We're still running our multiple other series at the same time - including the trainers, starters, fossils and whatever the hell else I said we were doing.
