Update #64 - Unova League

It's time to talk about the first major route for this year, which is the Unova League! But before we do, let's talk about the past week or so.

For one, this past week I've been struggling to find the next set of releases (which we'll talk about in a second), while also simultaneously struggling with Pike Queen Lucy's design. As a result, it's been a slow week. Mainly, I've been split between a crossroads - with the recent releases of both the Gen 6 starters and Legendaries (and a few regular sets), it felt natural to continue with Gen 6 / Kalos League, but I really didn't want to skip over Gen 5, especially since we've been consistent between Gens 1 through 4, so far.

In deciding between the two, I considered a LOT of different factors, specifically, potential releases. I'll spare the details, but ultimately I decided that since I would continue reworking the Starter Moemon, it's a great chance to do the Snivy, Tepig and Oshawott lines once again (including Hisuian Samurott), and to rework Hilda (work in progress above), Akari (Legends of Arceus), and to finally do Rosa!

I might even do a genderbent version of Hilbert/Nate, aka, Black and Black 2 male protagonists.

Another factor in making this decision were the Gym Leaders. I actually wanted to begin the Unova League about a year ago, but there were some unfinished Moemon that I wanted to wait for - and the biggest hurdle was the very first gym. It took forever for the three Pan-monkies to receive sprites, and the worst part was that even after most of them were done, there was still one left that took a whole year to finish, by which point there were several versions of them.

Note: There's a better version of Panpour and Simipour out there, but I don't have it on hand right now, and I'm not going to try and find it right now just for the previews (x

Of course, all Unova Gym Leaders will be done, as females, of course. The ones I'm most excited for are Elesa and Skyla - the latter of which I've been wanting to create since I started this whole project. Actually, I'm glad I waited so that she is a quality release.

Unlike before, all of the Gym Leaders' main Moemon all have sprites this time, so full teams for them should be expected, with few exception - For example, Brycen has a Vanillish on their team, but Vanillish was just recently reworked, so she won't be receiving a new release. However, they also have Cryogonal, which may receive an update. Their primary Moemon, Beartic, will receive a new release. That's the formula I'll try to follow for these sets.

Alongside all of them, there's plenty of other Gen 5 Moemon to expect. In no particular order or priority, here's some previews of what's coming:

It's been too long since we had any catgirls. Purrloin and Liepard will fix that.

Expect Leavanny's line with Gym Leader Burgh's set.

Scolipede's family line is also included in that release week.

There's some real iconic ones Amoonguss, too.

Fossil week will also return with Tirtouga and Archen lines.

Fun fact, I just beat the E4 in Moemon Star Emerald with a Mienshao on my team!

Liligant's absolutely necessary before doing her Hisuian variant. 

After Gigalith's line, there's actually a pretty neat surprise that I'll immediately spoil for you here:

I also think it's time to finish the Therian forms of our Forces of Nature Legendaries!

For now, these are just some of the releases planned. Unlike the next few Generations, Gen 5 is actually the final one with sprites for every Moemon in it's Generation - with the late inclusion of the Pan-Monkeys, of course! Although, that doesn't necessarily mean we're going to complete the entire set. Some male-only Moemon haven't received Female sprites yet - Throh and Sawk, for example (although I think one of them did, but I have to find it again), and other Moemon have very confusing sprites or low quality ones that I can't really work with right now, unless they get some improvements, but I won't say which ones :^)

Overall, this should be a massively packed update full of Moemon, Trainers, Gym Leaders, and, of course, Team Plasma!
