I can't express how many iterations this went through to get to a satisfactory level. It went through enough to warrant reworking the original Charmander/Charmeleon/Charizard cards because they drastically paled in comparison. I may never be 100% satisfied with any card I do, but I think the final result of this came out well.
The scene above came from the Pokemon Origins miniseries released back in 2013, which was more faithful to the Pokemon Red/Blue games than the actual Anime was. If you have not seen it yet, I highly recommend it.
