Update + Scarlet Forest 2nd WIP
Added 2019-10-01 07:32:35 +0000 UTCGuys, very sorry I've been MIA for the last few months. Let me explain what I've been up to.
- Started a full time job. The job is IT related and I mainly do IT work and front-end development. It's a bit hard adjusting to a full time job where at the end of the day I come home and just want to relax and play games until I go to sleep
- Juggled a lot of commissioned music projects, both paid and free. These took up whatever free time I could muster to work. This one commissioned project I took on for my church was pretty demoralizing. Our modestly sized church decided they wanted to write and produce a children's music to perform in 3 months. The people in charge have zero artistic inclination, so when they asked me to help out, I ended up doing a complete rewrite of the script, and later helped out making orchestrated arrangements of some of the songs the kids would sing. (The original plan was just to play someone's poorly recorded piano accompaniment). And my gosh did all my work was wasted on them. Poor planning, unrealistic expectations, and ignoring all the detailed notes I gave them on how to produce it made it an utter disaster. What's worse is the people in charge actually are proud of what they achieved and see no reason to improve. Just no.
So being able to earn a somewhat decent income in awhile, I saved up to finally upgrade my ailing desktop computer. This monster houses an AMD Ryzen 3700X and 64GB of RAM!

Silent and powerful. The big chore was reinstalling my music stuff and configuring all my sample libraries. It's not perfect, and I still have some work to do, but now I am back on track.
I attached the latest WIP of Scarlet Forest. I've sped it back up to close to the original speed, and am doing my best making it sound like "forest music" that a real orchestra would play. The finished track my end up being my longest piece yet. Thanks everyone for your patience. I will finish the track this week and upload it ASAP.

I'm sorry to hear that your project for the church was so unappreciated :( And I understand the delays that come with life and work! I'm super happy to hear this WIP for Scarlet Forest! It's so magical.
2019-10-31 15:19:46 +0000 UTCI almost got into a similar situation at my church, but the project had been my idea and they decided it was too ambitious. So they took over the project and kicked me out. Anyway . . . Honestly, I really glad you're back. I kind of figured after your last MIA period that whatever was keeping you must be important, but it's hard not to worry. Congratulations on your new job, and I look forward to seeing what you turn out in the future!
