This video is a recording of a live Zoom life drawing session from 26th March 2025. The recording is shared here so that you can catch up and draw from the session if you missed it, or continue to work on a drawing if you attended live! As this is a recording of a live session the quality is limited by Zoom and will be a lower resolution than our our tutored sessions which are recorded locally and undergo more rigorous processing before their release. Please feel free to work from the video directly, or to take a screenshot to work from - if you take a screenshot please do be mindful of the photo guidance below. Click the cog in the bottom right of the screen and select 1080 for the highest resolution image - if you're working on a tablet or phone, enable rotation and turn your device into the orientation of the video for the best view.

This session, proposed and styled by Maizy, was inspired by the work of 19th century French painter and lithographer Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, in particular his lithographic posters for the Moulin Rouge cabaret.
To add a thematic twist, you might want to draw along with the soundtrack to the 2001 film Moulin Rouge, which you can find on Spotify HERE.
If you are interested in finding out more about lithographic printmaking, we'll be holding an Experimental Life Drawing session on the 6th April themed around kitchen lithography. The session is free for Life Drawing & Student tier supporters, with a materials list released this Sunday.
