Switching to the Charge Upfront method of payment
Added 2017-07-02 14:50:44 +0000 UTCThis means anyone new joining on is charged immediately, which saves me waiting a month to find out that they weren't intending to pay, and for everyone who is already a patron... nothing changes I think.
Here, I'll copy/paste.
1. New pledges will be charged upfront for the amount they pledge, instead of at the end of the month. After the initial month, cards will be charged on the 1st of each subsequent month. Example: If someone pledges $5 on June 20th, they'll be charged on June 20th for $5. If their pledge remains active into July, they will be charged $5 again on July 1st for the new month.
2. Existing pledges will be charged on the 1st of the month. No real changes there. Anyone who is pledging right at this moment (6/16/2016, 11:30am est) will not be charged until July 1st.
3. If you increase your pledge (say from $1 to $5), you will be charged with the difference, and then for the amount of your current pledge at the beginning of the next month. Example: on June 20th, someone increases their pledge from $1 to $5. They are charged $4 on June 20th to make up the difference. If their pledge extends into July, they will be charged $5 on the 1st of the month.
There, that about covers it.
It just saves a lot of hassle on my end, like a spam blocker.
