My stepdad was removed by the police from our house, and hasn't been allowed back since then because he made death threats to mom and myself, among other things throughout the night, and since then he had been calling us constantly until a few days ago. We'd talked to police and a lawyer to see what to do about it, but the only real option was to ignore him (since it was just words) and wait a year for mom to start divorce procedures.
He got a lawyer and is now attempting to take half the house. There's a few reasons this won't likely work, but to go to court to prove this, we need a lawyer, and we're still on the tail end of a rough winter.
So, I need a little patience while we get this sorted out. I don't know how much money we'll need, all I know is that lawyers cost more than we can afford, so I'm taking on commissions this month to save up to pay for a lawyer. The community in the area is planning to do bake sales and things to help us out, but it's best to start early rather than later. I might not have new comic pages this month, but I'll try to get a pinup done to make up for it. If there's more I can do to make up for it, let me know and I'll make the attempt once the dust settles a bit.
The comic pages here are intended to show more about the world that Stalwart lives in, this isn't Coveille but it does have an effect on the main story, so it's important to show where this is coming from.
