Scutoids Are Live!

Hello good humans!

I'm very excited about this video. I've really fallen in love with scutoids in the past few months, and I hope the care and attention comes through.

I appreciate your being patient and supportive as I obsessed over how to make the perfect papercraft scutoid, how to film in VR180 while still maintaining my style, and obsessiveness about every single prop and shot and word. It's done! It's out! I hope people like it both in and out of VR, and that it serves as an example of what the format can do beyond vlogs.

I've also created a scutoid webpage, still a work in progress but that collects all the bits I've talked about in these posts as well as other info.

Now that the series is started I hope to have the next couple videos out soon (meaning in the next month or two). I'm working on one just about how to make them that will go into the papercraft versions more, and then a video on monkey bread (which will mostly be about monkey bread and not scutoids, but y'know).

ooh now I'm hungry.

bye!

I watched it once, not noticing until the end that the view shifted as I tilted my phone. I rewound and saw the glasses icon... And then after crossing my eyes for thirty seconds, I could see the three - d effect. *Very* spiffy. I'll look for the icon in the future, but it would be helpful if there were a clearer sign at the beginning that these YouTube videos are not like other YouTube videos.

Copy-pasting my own YouTube comment: Delightful video. The 180 video format works really well in a Cardboard viewer. It solves the "where the hell do I look?" problem of VR pretty nicely. And the scooting scutoids are positively adorable. (Also, Hi Dogget!)
