(Exclusive) Arcane Season 2 Episode 1

Comments

Where Arcane :( I was told the next episodes should be much faster, it feels like it's been 84 years since last upload :'(

Jakub Horák

I'm surprised there hasn't been a new episode yet with them saying the follow up eps should be faster. I expected at least one episode a week but its almost been 2 weeks now

Jude

NEED more arcane from u guys lol can't wait for u to finish this season!!

Cory Chavan

arcane has only 2 seasons, but there are already working on few other series in this world, judging by lol trailer for 2025 "Welcome to Noxus" one of the series is going to take place in Noxus and we could see in that trailer one of the arcane characters. This trailer shows some events directly after arcane, so I recommend watching it after arcane, saw a lot of reactions to this trailer so maybe it is even worth making reaction to. The trailer already has 170 milion views in 10 days!

The dude at the end is the Doctor that worked for Silco. Singed. He's the one that made the shimmer. The same guy that Viktor went to in the later episodes of last season.

Saimeren

I laughed at Holdens gears turning in his head with a smirk on his face trying to think of a joke about Vi's "The hole gets smaller, but you can never fill it" line.

Jonah Forrest

Viktor's story is preplanned and accordingly to new/continued lore from the game

Andrew Jagot

I see that a lot of comments already touched upon LoL/Runeterra lore that was shown a bit in the episode, but one thing that I'd like to add is: by the time the 1st season was made, Arcane was not canon - it was kind of a parallel storyline to the canon one, which did not take place in the same universe. They changed that during the production of season 2, so now Arcane is canon. Why does that matter? Well, now they have the storytelling permission to reference and explore all the lore in the canon universe - and you can already start to see that in the 2nd episode with the Grey, something that's important in Zaun's lore but new to the series. Another side of this is that many of Piltover's and Zaun's characters that are in the game but not in the series had their lore deleted. For example, Viktor in-game was much more of a machine guy than a magic guy, and he created a robot character. But now, since they canonized arcane, that robot character had it's lore deleted - and it hasn't been rewritten, it's just empty.

This season definitely ups the music video count and they are all bangers. Arcane is only 2 seasons and concludes everything set up in Season 1 but this season introduces 1 subplot that does seem to be not finished and will most likely continue in whatever show they make next probably in Noxus. It also has a few openended character resolutions that will probably re-emerge in future shows.

ShotaBoyLover

I believe the Cait and Jayce relationship comes from Jayce getting support from the Kirammans when he was young, so he's more of a family friend. It's more of a sibling relationship.

Eric Tanaka

This is the final season for this story. Arcane is based on the lore and background of just one region in Runeterra (the world in League of Legends). But there are still projects in the works that are going to delve into other stories. After finishing season 2 I recommend watching the League of Legends video Welcome to Noxus as it is tied to Arcane and is likely going to be where the next show takes place.

Jude

I know Christian Linke described 3 more regions they were interested in exploring, but 3 series were actually confirmed? With the new structure of how LoL plays their seasons now (3 seasons a year instead of 1) I figured this sentiment lined up with having 3 Seasonal Cinematics instead - I'd be very excited to know where they confirmed new series.

Rabbid Dawg

Oh hey! Yesss! Need. More. Arcane. Reactions.

AdmiralZhou

oh hey there :) had to hop onto more reactors for the post Arcane S2 depression. I can't get enough!

Rabbid Dawg

It's been confirmed there are 3 series in development for Riot and Fortiche but who knows how far along they are.

PHOTOLOL

It's been reported that they floated the idea of having more episodes in the second season. There was an interview with, I believe, either Christian Linke or Alex Yee, but it didn't work out in the end. I still think the show is a masterpiece due to the animation, story, and characters, but in the latter half of S2, you can feel that they were a bit rushed.

PHOTOLOL

Also, so eager to see the rest of the season with you too! so gud! (the dude in the end trapping the two headed beast is the doctor, who made the shimer for Silco, and also friend of Viktor when he was younger (gave him the shimer to start his "transformation" etc in season 1)

Some info. This is the last season of Arcane(which was in the region Piltover & Zaun), but there are 3 new seasons already in the making of other regions each having their own different characters and storylines. The regions being Noxus (where Mel and Ambessa where from), Demacia and Ionia. Also a little info on this episode as i’m not sure you made the connection, but the woman with the chainsaw who tried to kill Jayce is the mother of the little kid Jayce shot and fell to his death when he infiltrated one of the shimmer plants. The person in the end is Singed, the scientist/doctor Silco worked with who created shimmer and saved Jinx’s life. He was hunting 2 Murk Wolves.

Juan Clyncke

The guy at the end is singed, the doctor who was burned at the end of episode 3 by powder bomb, also the mentor for young viktor and he injected jinx with shimmer after she almost died when she used her bomb in the Ekko fight

Gabriel

Arcane was meant to be 2 seasons since production started, the story of the two sister. There are more in the works, but we dont know exactly where is the next one takes us in Runeterra.

Wes

This is the last season of Arcane as it is. But stories and characters will continue in future spinoffs. Once you finish Arcane I recommend watching the "Welcome to Noxus" cinematic because it is a short continuation of Arcane potentially setting up the future.

Christopher Struthers

So Yeah Holden, it's indeed the final season, for the Arcane show, not the Runeterra (name of the world of League of Legends) universe tho. the only think we know right now, is the places in the world the next shows will present, wich doesn't say much tbh, even knowing the lore. So we'll see. but since we know Fortiche (the french studio who made the animation) is in a long love story since years with Riot (they even did equity investment in the studio, got stakes in it etc) , they could continue to work with them for the next shows too!

Ker'Mhod

After the last episode, check out "Welcome to Noxus". It's a promo for the game's new season, however it also serves as an epilogue to season 2 and the sort of direction a new series could go. It's by the same production company as Arcane. I don't think they've officially committed to a new series yet, but they have said they've been working on possible ideas.

Rob B

I’m so excited for you both to finish this season. Can’t wait for reactions to certain episodes/scenes

Tony

Jayce and Victor's dynamic this season is my favorite thing. There's so much to come with them. I love seeing Jayce and Vi work together, the scene where they're using the hammer together was awesome. I actually wish they had Jayce get with Caitlyn or even Vi, but it is what it is lol.

Timothy Mills

This story arc concludes this season. However spin offs/sequels in the world of Arcane are planned. With a new setting and characters. But that’s probably not gonna start until 2027 at the earliest.

Jason Jeffory

The showrunners had always planned from the beginning for Arcane to be 2 seasons with 9 episodes each, split into 3 acts. They wrote the story from beginning to end with that in mind, and decided to stick to it. This is the first time Riot has produced anything like this, and they did it without Film and TV producers. There are some behind the scenes interviews with the creators for each season you can check out. 3 other projects have already been announced with 1 already in the works (check out "Welcome to Noxus" League of Legends 2025 cinematic after youre done Season2 of Arcane) (in fact, you should check out all of the League of Legends cinematic after you're done. They have a lot of music video cinematicsfor each years season, as well as have created animated kpop and metal bands with League characters as promotion for skin lines. The Tales of Runeterra also are fun little short stories from around the world of League ) Also a fun fact: in the opening music/credits, Caitlin puts her hands up to her face and it casts a shadow on the wall with a crown. This is a reference to a famous poster for Macbeth.

James Ibaraki

Keep an eye on the opening for changes. Cait's offer to get Vi into the Enforcers parallels Jace's offer to get Cait into the university in the first season. With a very similar response, at least at first. Structurally, the second season tends to shy away from contrasting A/B plots and makes the episodes more focused and compartmentalized. So something that happens in one episode might not get explained until later, and they mostly leave it up to the viewer to piece together how the episodes connect. Not to say you don't get any sort of A/B storytelling, but it's like this episode where you could say that the A plot was Cait's story, and the B plot is Jace's.

Rob B

This is well worth the wait. The animation in season 1 was fantastic, and somehow they stepped it up even more this season, can't wait to see the rest of the reactions!

AdmiralZhou

Yes this is the final season, they said from the begining this story was gonna be just two seasons, but if this show was succesfull they might develop more stories in this world but in other cities, with other champions from the game, they have already confirmed that they are working on multiple different spin off series/movies. I know this might interest Holden so just so you know there is a behind the scenes series on yt on how they delevoped season 1, its called Arcane: bridging the rift.

VGR

The guy at the end was the docter he saved jinx’s life and was viktor first teacher

John Edge

lets go ive been so excited for this!

Cory Chavan

But they're doing spin offs

Timothy Mills

It is concluded in this season

John Edge

I am so happy
