i dont think vi/jinx reuinion was played out. Throughout the last few episodes and even in this one, you can see vi and jinx looking at eachother and struggling to say something that's on their mind or show affection that they want to say but can't, even in this episode in how vi almost put her hand on jinx's shoulder during the letter scene and then hesitated and went back to putting up walls for herself, or how vi kept seeing how isha sees jinx as her sister and cares for her, seeing a different POV than just the hate.

100% loved this show and the dnd campaign to go with it! I'm on campaign 2 ep 11 and just watched campaign 1 two years ago for the first time. Was introduced to dnd a couple months before starting campaign 1 around July two years ago.

I see what you’re saying but up to this point it needed to be better developed imo. 6 months may have passed for them but as a viewer it’s only been 40 mins. Considering it’s the crux of the whole show, it could’ve been handled better

As others have said, there’s a lot going on this season. And I don’t even necessarily think they do a bad job at squeezing it all in, it’s just a shame they needed to. It feels a little rushed and like we may have missed some much needed scenes between certain characters. Really would’ve been a perfect show if it had 3 seasons, imo. But I still think it’s amazing nevertheless. Can’t wait for the next episode! Hope you guys get feeling back to 100%

i understand jen’s point about jinx and vi’s reunion. However, i think episode 3 of this season is like the lowest point their relationship could’ve gone with them trying to kill each other. With Isha breaking them up and also it being like 6 months since that fight, they’ve both had time to calm down and reflect on their relationship. This goes especially for jinx who has essentially stepped into Vi’s shoes and become an older sibling of sorts. All of this plus Vander being alive i think is what caused them to be calmer than you would expect. Although we still see they have a lot to work out with their bickering and fighting down in the mines. I really like how arcane handles family as a major theme of the show and how love can still exist even in the most rough relationships.

“NOT THE CHOICE I would have made” …every time I see Vander “alive” again. Sigh 😪

I would like to point out a detail you guys probably missed and i won’t explain the implication of it, but just let you wonder about it yourselves why that is.
But when Jayce talks to Salo in the white room with the generator thingie (not the area where the wild rune is). Pay attention to the breathing of both Salo and Jayce.
This is a perfect example of the amount of small details they sprinkle everywhere throughout this show.

Firstly for Vander experiment, doctor is trying to cure death itself, so he tried to cure dying bodies multiple times and only Vander had will not to die, that is the reason he survived the experiment and maybe the shimmer he took in episode 3 first season when he wanted to save Vi.
Since the beging of the game character that play in game have special quotes to each other. When Warwick(the beast) meets Vi in the game he says "Who tought you how to punch" and when he meets Jinx in the game he screams "You were there" (alluding to the explosion in episode 3 first season. In frist 3 episodes in first season someone called Wander "Hound of the underground" so that reavel he was Vander was sprinkled around whole time.
For the reunion of the sisters. Vi gave up on Jinx on the start of the season, but when she saw Isha protecting her in episode 3 second season she begin to have fate for her, beacuse Isha reminded her how powder saw her when they were little. After that she stoped Cait from shooting Jinx. Cait never miss the shoot and she would got Jinx, but Vi steped up. She still doesnt like what Jinx became, but she still see some good in her.
Black rose stuff is a bit complicated to talk for me not to spoil the ending, so I will leave it for the end and we will learn more when spin off comes.
Hope this helps if you have more questions feel free to get to me. I could talk about this show for days

I can understand the rushed season comparison to GoT but unlike GoT I dont feel they betrayed any character motivations or pointlessly killed off people. While both deaths and motivations are rushed or brushed by in some cases, they all make sense.

Hi Holden! So I know it will probably be a week before you both see Ep 6, but I thought I'd put a link down here for the translation of one of the songs to one of the ending scenes in Ep 6 so that you and Jen can watch it either fresh out of the end of the reaction or come back to it in your own time since the accurate translations of the song actually added a LOT of meaning to the scene in Ep 6 itself.
FAIR WARNING , pls don't watch this until you've seen the end of Ep 6! Because it DOES have spoilers!
Once again, pls don't watch it until AFTER Ep 6! : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYpB8yRcAJU&t=1s
Just thought I'd put it here a week earlier so that you both can see it fresh after Ep 6!
PS: Do let me know if you'd prefer me to remove this comment since it does contains spoilers for the next episode, I won't mind it...just wanted to share in lieu of the next ep and knowing that one of the songs that they use is in mandarin instead of english as per usual.

I think this season reminds me a bit of Game of Thrones in the sense that it feels like someone is putting several seasons worth of story in one to end the show more quickly. They’re introducing a ton of new concepts and mechanics that become very confusing when presented all together and given essentially one episode of consideration. They’re basically doing it so everyone can have their in-game league powers and I didn’t feel like the material really had room to breathe.
With that said, I agree with Holden on death having lessened impact, but I will say that he didn’t return in a similar state and there have been severe consequences for what happened to him so it bothers me a lot less than what Marvel or DC have done in the past.

for Mel, no previous knowledge, except for her mom coming in Piltover cause she thinks her son is dead, and that the black rose seems to chase her and her kids.

Like the doctor says when he explains, he took Vander's Body after his "death" in the 3x1 because he was so resilient to live, and had great resistance to immense pain. (since he had already took shimmer at that point, who knows how the body works.) but he says the he was the best of all the other test subjects to approach immortality, (regenerating skills like we see in the fight with V here) and he seek immortality for his daughter. so he made a weapon valuable to him while searching at the same time a cure for his kid. I get the whole meaningfullness of death in general, but in that show, with have already a LOT of real deaths tbh. (V and Jinx parents, their friends, silko, Caitlyn's mom etc.) and it's probably the only way to reunite the sisters together again.

This season, even just up until this point, suffered a bit from not having enough screen time, so imma explain some of the stuffs you might've missed here.
After Silco died, Singed (the doctor) need a new investor, which is why he created The Beast, you can see him hunting murkwolves, stitching their claws and stuffs to Vander's corpse, then pump the beast with his own blood and chemicals... in the earlier episodes end credits
His plan was to use The Beast to catch the attention of Ambessa, which he deemed would be a neat replacement to Silco, and morally messed up enough so she would fund his research in exchange for his Beast and other chem-weapons. So he roll up to the Zaun gathering, let himself be captured, then cut his hand to summon The Beast...

Re:Confusing - I think you need to watch this show twice to fully take everything in. There's a lot of visual storytelling and nuance, they show rather than tell. I really didn't like the ending of Arcane until I rewatched it and picked up on everything I'd missed the first time.

Your not missing much with the black rose, you talked about the lil flashback to Mel being taken, outside of that was only when Ambessa (Mel's mum) was confronted by Amara who was possessed but Ambessa and Rictus killed her, it's very much watch and see still atm.

Love this show so much. Kind of a different vibe but another really good animated show is Legend of Vox Machina. I highly recommend that and would love to see your reactions to it.
