(Exclusive) Godzilla Minus One FULL Reaction with Matt

Comments

One of these days, you're going to think you're not rolling, but you should have another camera hidden that Matt doesn’t know about—just so we can catch him crashing out from having to watch another movie. LOL. I get why Matt gets frustrated over "fake-out" deaths. One thing to remember is that characters in fiction often cheat death because we, as humans, like to see ourselves in them. It reflects a wish to escape death, even though we know we can’t. That’s what makes this movie so powerful. The whole story revolves around the main character’s fear of death. It’s only when he has nothing left that he finally accepts his fate—willing to sacrifice himself for something he believes in—only to be saved by those around him in the end. I wouldn’t be surprised if this movie somehow connects to Shin Godzilla. I think Matt would get a laugh out of that, just from how it looks. It’s a solid film. Recommended Godzilla Watchlist Before jumping into the Monsterverse films (if you haven’t already), here’s my recommended watch order: Showa Era Godzilla (1954) King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962) Invasion of Astro-Monster (1965) Destroy All Monsters (1968) Terror of Mechagodzilla (1975) Heisei Era The Return of Godzilla (1984) – Sequel to the original Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1974) Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (1995) – Sequel Millennium Era Godzilla 2000 – Sequel Godzilla vs. Megaguirus (2000) Giant Monsters All-Out Attack (2001) – Sequel Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla (2002) Godzilla: Tokyo SOS (2003) – Sequel to Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla Godzilla Final Wars (2004) Reiwa Era Shin Godzilla (2016) Godzilla Minus One (2023) These are the essential movies for context, broken down by era. You don’t need to watch them all since each era is basically a reboot, with some being direct sequels to the original Godzilla (1954). The rest are mostly standalone films. A good chunk of the Showa and Heisei eras are versus films. There are others, like Son of Godzilla and Godzilla Raids Again, but for story context and the bigger picture, these are the must-watch ones. This list gives you the full Godzilla experience without having to watch every single movie. If you'd rather jump straight into the Monsterverse films, I’d still recommend watching: Godzilla (1954) King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962) Invasion of Astro-Monster (1965) Destroy All Monsters (1968) Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla (2002) Doesn’t have to be in that exact order, but I highly recommend watching Shin Godzilla as well.

Majin Planet

I love watching the reactions with Holden and Matt, though definitely more for the banter than the reaction most of the time. You guys have such a fun friendship and I love it, just wish it wasn't during some of my favorite movies lol As a Japanese guy, yeah, you guys kinda offended me a few times, but I expect it. No cancelling but jeez guys 😂 I guess the one other thing I'll include is that part near the beginning where Noriko says "eeEeEEe" (or however you remember it) and the subs said "interesting" and Matt mentioned wondering how that sound meant something. It's more of an exclamation denoting intrigue in something, which is being translated to "interesting" to English speakers who needs context of the exclamation. But no, it's not a word lol

Eric Tanaka

YES

Madison Watkins

"I wrote a book" lmao, that's the sam with me. I love to write books, I don't really care much for reading them.

Timothy Mills

I’m excited to watch. Here’s hoping for a Godzilla 2014 movie reaction with Matt. :)

The Amazing Webhead

Also send my best to Jen and the little ones. I’ve relocated to Denver so I’ve been out of the loop on all the videos 😂😂😂
