(Exclusive) Arcane Season 2 Episode 8

How long you gonna make us wait for the finale? :(

Jason Jeffory

The music videos for "Enemy" and "Blood, Sweat & Tears" both include original footage made by the same studio for those music videos which expand on the characters the songs are about, Jinx, and Ambessa. And would probably be worth including in a reaction to Welcome to Noxus.

There are definitely thematic undertones that are more apparent with repeated viewing. Jinx and Silco's discussion about how "killing is a cycle" is, I think, the core theme of the season. The only way for the cycle to be broken is for someone to step away from it.

After season finalle you should watch also cinematic trailer for new season in LOL : Welcome to the noxus. Its the same animation style and its possible tease for next project. :)

It was actual Sky, because you can see the disappointment in her eyes in this episode at the end. And she somewhere in this season when he tried to heal Beast Vander “it has its limitations” or something along those lines where Viktor said “he’s worth it”. That’s not something the Arcane would say.

There is alot of show dont tell in this series especially s2. That and the more rushed pacing in most places can lead to easier confusion. A pretty significant character conclusion in the next episode is a victim of this as well. That flaw is common among s2 reviews so you are not alone. Because of this s2 is not as highly regarded as s1 but considering s1 is a masterpiece thats not that big of a deal imo, its still one of the best shows netflix ever had and the followup series cant come soon enough.

And about you feeling lost in the second season I think it is a little fault to the writers or maybe just that they didn't had few more episodes to tell their story. I think you need to be League of Legends lore nerd to get season 2 to it fullest potential. Even then they rewrite lot of lore like Jayce and Viktor were enemies in the lore, but Viktor was like a Russian robot herald giving hextech to the people that lost arms, legs and giving them upgrades. Here Viktor is OP like a celestial being that can do what ever he wants. I love both versions and cant wait to se what they do in spinoff. If you want to know more about the lore of League of Legends I recommend you to watch this video and the rest from this creator https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DuOZjTIbbQ&t=147s

Fun fact about the prison scene. This is shorter version of the scene. Creators said the have longer and more hard core version on some USB. :joy

Fun fact: The robot that attacks Jayce and Mel is actually Huck in his transformed state.

Jason Jeffory

I thought so too. Until I rewatched this episode. Because Sky looks at viktor concerningly when he’s talking about joining ambessa. That makes me think it might actually be her in there. Or at least a portion of her actual self is mixed with the Arcane.

Jason Jeffory

Fun fact: at 7:08 in the video. The grave on the right looks like it has Isha’s hat on it. Hinting that the Noxians gave the child a grave out of respect for her courage.

To be totally Honest Holden, most of the people commenting to "help" you get everything saw the whole show multiple times (I know I did at least, every episodes and diff reacts to it) so it's certainly easier for us to explain stuff you maybe always wouldn't get it on the first watch, especially with someone else. :D

I always thought of Sky as the remnant of Viktor's humanity. Which is why she leaves at the end of episode 8, merging Warwick's blood with Victor's removed what was left of Viktor's humanity.

Skywarrior91

Viktor was disabled himself and used Hextech (and shimmer) as the ways to evolve himself to no longer have those disabilities, or at least that was his reasoning for trying. When he was saved, he had a revelation. Viktor used hextech initially in the lanes to help people like Salo and Huck with the same thing in mind. He wanted them to evolve themselves to no longer have their disabilities or deficiencies (like shimmer addiction). Viktor turning them into his machine army is the next step in what he sees as evolution. The "glorious evolution" is them evolving past the need for death itself. This version of Viktor was incredibly different from the game when Arcane initially dropped (the game has since retconned Viktor to be more similar) and was a point of contention amongst the community.

PHOTOLOL

After jayce tried to kill viktor, Viktor came to the conclusion that his attempts to better society will always fail because humans don't think rationally, but instead act on their emotions, and are susceptible to corruption. By trying to kill Viktor, Jayce basically radicalized Viktor. Now he thinks he can only save humanity by taking away their free will and irrational emotions.

The Thing is, as the story evolve, even during the first season, Viktor shift slowly to wanting to help people in the need to change them. Him the first, wanting the evolve himself with the Hexcore to "erase" his imperfections and sickness. And I think, as soon as he start to get mixed with "the machine", first with his legs, then more, then completely after the attack on the council, his thought are mixed with the need of Hexcore to evolve to something greater. and we loose viktor in it, slowly. he remains for a long time with good sentiments, hoping to help, but already, every soul he touchs is transformed and changed more than helped, and in the end become even mindless weapons. Like he said himself in the first season "We Lost Ourselves. Lost Our Dream. In The Pursuit Of Great, We Failed To Do Good."

Ker'Mhod

Totally :'D

Ker'Mhod

"Right here in this prison cell" lol. Yeah all I can think about is the amount of germs and stuff that's been all over them walls lol

Timothy Mills

Viktor is not himself anymore. Remember his blood mixed with the hex-core and caused the anomaly to form. He is part of the Arcane and it is part of him, he's "evolved" and in turn wants to spread this "glorious evolution" to the world. He corrupted the hex-core with his shimmer infused blood and it changed him in return. Also keep in mind with this show that there's a lot you're not supposed to know, much of it is left up the viewers interpretation. I think the show benefits from a second watchthrough as you pick up on a lot more things including some of the earlier building blocks.

Christopher Struthers

Holden making sexual inneundos every 12 seconds in videos: 😏😏😏 Holden when there is an actual sex scene on screen: 🥺👉🏻👈🏻

Berndelta

I think Viktor genuinely thought he was doing good but was manipulated by the Arcane. I think the version of Sky he saw was a manifestion of the Arcane trying to get into his head.

Christopher Struthers

One thing I would recommend is going back to listen to Viktor's monologue at the end of episode 6. He goes on and on about how humanity and our emotions are contradictory and how that is the crux of why the commune he made failed. Then fast forward to this episode where you have Viktor talking about this "Glorious Evolution" and he's making these mannequin looking creatures that Jayce saw in episode 7. They definitely did not make Viktor's turn obvious but when you go back and rewatch you can pick up more of the hints they left. I'm very excited to see your reaction to the finale though, you'll get a lot more clarity on Viktor's motivations there!

Lys

if you rewatch episode 7, every single person that viktor "helped", like Huck or Salo are no longer themselves. They all have the same timid and polite demeanor like Viktor, all lack a certain amount of self preservation, show absolutely 0 emotion even when having a weapon point to their head, or when a Noxian army show up at their door. And they all flipped over and wither the moment Viktor got "Jayced" Viktor wasnt "helping" or "curing" them, he was just assimilating them. Now whether or not he know what he was doing or was it the Hexcore controlling him from behind ? It's still up to interpretation
