Spirits have already been shown in re zero as beings such as puck, beatrice, and lesser spirits who are just there to support characters, they have nothing to do with divine protections. As per season 1 - Divine protections are given by the 'mechanism' of the world. I can't explain further because it would be a spoiler. Just wanted to make sure your on the right path now!

Intrigued by greed maybe its a side story never heard of it. In the last ark we learned none of them have any Lovers, Families maybe even Villages to return to so im sure most Fear , but I do remember a few are Murders not all of them are innocent.

When Lye was talking about the “hero” on he broadcast it sounded like some of Rem’s personality/attitude towards Subaru was coming through. Remember at the start of season two she told Lye her hero would come for him. I think the part of Lye that is Rem recognised Subaru’s voice over the broadcast.
