Fairy Tail Episode 19-20 reaction

Fairy Tail Episode 19-20 reaction

It really wasn't vital to be honest. The lisanna is important but the starving animal one when they are traveling back that she skipped was not. She has to go through so many episodes and other series so I think it is fine if she skips the filler list. She is sticking with the mixed filler most likely so she won't miss the important stuff.

The filler episodes are basic continuations of the main story and also give other characters more screen time with taking odd jobs and misadventures which are pretty hilarious. The last filler you skipped you missed out on two characters introductions and also missed seeing the main characters after lullabys ending trying to get back home and getting lost in the process. The fillers are greatly intertwined with the story at times and gives additional back story to some of the other characters.

To be honest the type of filler most people complain about is comedy filler. Which makes sense when you are watching a super dramatic show and then get a whole episode of comedy hijinks that does nothing to advance the plot or characters. However Fairy Tail is a heavily comedy focused series even in the manga so a bit of extra comedy sprinkled on in the anime doesn’t bother me as much. I would describe Fairy Tail as 40% comedy, 40% action/adventure and 20% serious drama. Although when the dramatic stuff hits it hits hard. Which I actually think is because Fairy Tail is light most of the time. It’s a bit like those old 80s and 90s sitcoms I used to watch where they’d have a “very special episode” that would get serious and the joking would stop.

Fairy Tail was a rare case where I watched all the filler because I bought a boxed set of the series on blu-ray and thought “Eff it. I paid for this - including the filler - so I have to watch it all at least once.” From what I remember there weren’t many standalone filler episodes but there were two filler story arcs. I vaguely recall liking one of the filler story arcs and being bored by the other one. Also I could be wrong but I think the author of the manga was involved in writing one of the filler story arcs. Which is why even if they aren’t in the manga they are still “canon”.

If a strict definition of filler is anything not in the manga there is actually a lot of cool stuff that you would miss out on by skipping. In Attack on Titan at the end of season 4 they gave Mikasa a badass fighting sequence that was completely made up for the anime and not in the manga at all.

In anime terms filler generally is anything that’s not in the original manga. In some cases there are entire episodes or even entire multi-episode story arcs that are filler. The tricky thing is sometimes there are episodes with a mixture of filler scenes and scenes from the manga. When I was watching Naruto and trying to skip the filler those “mixed” episodes were the trickiest when deciding what to skip.

Id not count20 as filler sonce its lisanas intro

I personally don't remember which episodes belonged to a filler or not. But i'd still say: Feel free to skip em all :3 Based on the internet, episode 19 was a filler, and the next one will be episode 50, so you still have plenty of time to decide.

I don’t mind skipping filler since the cannon arcs are where It’s at

There is filler episodes. There is a filler arc way later that people argue whether it is filler or not. That is what the main argument is about. Based on what you say about the filler in this episode, you can skip the filler arc later since it isn't necessary. The reason people say it isn't filler is because it is mentioned once later and the author wanted to add it. Also there is filler episodes every so often and a huge batch of filler episodes at one point.

Thank you so much for the Video!
