I don’t know if this is the actual reason why the Viltrumite population is so low but there was a possible explanation in season 1. In season one it was revealed that the Viltrumites killed each other until only the strongest were left. I always had a problem with this because as long as there is more than one Viltrumite there is always going to be a weaker one. I felt like there had to be some kind of cut off number or something otherwise there would only be one Viltrumite. Maybe 50 was the cut off number. Or maybe it was 100 but some of them have died since then. Or maybe it’s an Adam and Eve situation and there were only two Viltrumite’s who survived the civil war and all the current ones are their children or descendants. I don’t think it was ever stated how long ago that Viltrumite civil war was.

2025-02-21 05:06:02 +0000 UTCI’ve been skimming some articles about dinosaurs having feathers and it seems like the current consensus is that some definitely did. However the fossil remains of some dinosaurs suggest they might have had feathers but it’s not conclusive.

2025-02-21 01:41:36 +0000 UTCFrom about the age of 13 to 25 I watched the Australian soaps Home & Away and Neighbours. Every two or three years they’d recycle their casts and a bunch of new hot young things would be brought in because the shows were primarily targeted at a teen/early 20s demographic. Meaning they were trying to keep their cast around the same age as their target audience. Just as a point of interest Margot Robbie started out her acting career playing a high schooler on Neighbours. Watching the shows for that long I saw a lot of rinse and repeat of storylines just with new characters. Births, deaths, marriage, divorce, cheating, first love, illness, serial killers, secrets and lies etc. Watching Mark and Eve’s sexcapades in this episode took me back. Every couple of years or so on those shows there’d be a new pair of 16 or 17 year olds hooking up for the first time and skulking around trying to hide it from their parents only to get caught. Then of course the father of the daughter would go off his rocker and have to be calmed down by his wife. Those shows conditioned me to think there was nothing wrong with 16 year olds being sexually active - that it was normal even and that it’s also normal not to be. Which I still think. So it was a pretty big culture shock for me when I started watching American shows like Law and Order SVU and an 18 or 20 year old having sex with a 16 year old was treated like a sexual predator. I suppose it just goes to show how our lived experiences and culture can shape our attitudes to things.

We know there's creatures out there that can hurt and even kill viltrumites. But no one is gonna want to take on an army of viltrumites, but 50, now that's a different story.
