I was puzzling about this too. We use kilocalories in the US too, which is 1000 calories. We just call it a “calorie” since it is easier to say and we never actually refer to a single calorie, which is tiny (^◡^).
So I wonder if they are just trying to show how a healthy eating person like Gojo imagines how many calories are in fried, unhealthy foods? It was an alarming number.

There’s a subtitle error there. Gojo clearly says kilocalorie, so divide by ten for calories. Apparently the Japanese want to be VERY precise in their calorie count.
