2024-03-30 19:50:04 +0000 UTCMC from episode 1 was a sympathetic lovable character that I would certainly want to be friends with. Now he has a detach focus behaviour only aimed at defeating the enemies. For me this type of character only works if he has experience and/or a mysterious background. I think the experience to back it up makes those kinds of characters interesting but that is not the case with the MC. I think I would like him as a character down the line when we have half a season past where he has some accumulated experience to back up his behaviour. Now he hasn’t earned this behavior. It makes him unsympathetic to me. First couple of episodes we saw him think through things to compensate for his lack of skill. In the double dungeon he solved all the riddles. And we see him care for other people despite him being in worse shape than the others. Now he has very little riddle solving and he doesn’t care for anybody else. Ok I’ll give this he has no hunter companions to care for. That is the main reason why I want him to get involved in a guild or something so he has some relationship. I know people have said it’s best for him to stay low. Even if it’s best for him it’s worst for a viewer like me since it doesn’t bring anything to make me attach to the characters. If we want a video game analogy he goes in, gets smacked around and then his strategy is to keep smashing the “A” button until the boss is defeated. That his whole strategy keeps smashing the “A” button until the enemy is defeated. He can work well if he has companions because my interest in him is not enough to carrie the anime. I need some other elements. I think the potential for this anime to be interesting is there in future episodes when he has experience backing it up to do other things than boss 1 one move crushing it to death boss 2 one move stabbing the eyes to death boss 3 same move stabbing the eyes to death. When he has companions he will care for others and have relationships that will make it interesting. Right now this episode is very boring for me. If it wasn’t for Awake reaction which was so much fun to watch I would have dropped this anime. Only the potential for future episodes would keep me a bit but just watching it without much enjoyment. I said it outloud when I watched it on my own. My god this is boring.

2024-02-18 19:09:14 +0000 UTCI wouldn't say so. He's still the same person, he's just grown in various ways. Either way, you won't have to worry too much about interaction with other hunters. It may be called Solo Leveling, but by the time everything is done, he will have many allies and acquaintances. He's playing it low for now, and soon you will see why that was the right call.

Now he wants to be a Guild Master at D-rank only because his family is rich. Then he wants to become richer by employing other hunters to make profit for his company. And also he wants to poach a S-rank hunter. [Sarcasm] Very appealing proposition. You are one of the only 7 people in the country that are S-rank and you want to come to my guild. I'm d-rank and only have 20 raids on my hand as a newly minted guild master. [/Sarcasm] Like why would any S-rank hunter want to come to his guild instead of one of the more established ones with a strong reputation. S-rank hunters are the strongest in the world they can do whatever they want. We don’t know the real value of money here. But he said that if he became an S-rank, 30 billion would be chump change. Like I said S-rank hunter are the best in the world, only 7 in the country. The threat is not helping you buddy. I had little reason to help you before now I have reason to silence you. The voice actor for the brother that want to kill our MC is Yasuhiro Mamiya, He hasn’t done much that I recognise. Gigantomachia from MHA and Magma from Dr Stone. 🥰 Love your reaction to the fight 😁 You know usually a boss with 3 heads, you has to defeat the 3 heads now he’s just pounding on one.😐 I don’t buy him killing the cerberus when it does so much damage but it’s anime so anything is possible. That is why the fighting doesn’t express me. Just too much of a defeated the boss just because he’s the MC and we need it for the plot to advance. No skill nor strategy just one move. And yes you don’t usually get the boss at the gate of a dungeon. After episode Ok I guess the one move to keep hitting it in the eyes is a strategy but they need to be more creative than that. Yea Danger to my heart now that a good anime 😁 Take Care 😘

2024-02-18 02:25:26 +0000 UTCHe barely survived at the entrance on the dungeon lol. No way he’s making it out alive if he goes in We have a goal now which is helping his mother, and surviving the hunter that’s trying to kill him. He needs to become an S rank as quickly as possible

2024-02-18 02:10:16 +0000 UTCI think I just figured out why these episodes of solo leveling didn’t do anything for me. In anime being OP yea it can be visually appealing but it becomes boring for me quite fast. I need relationships with other characters and so far he’s doing it on his own. The D-rank dude with the armor I don’t really care about. More about it later but I didn’t like him in this episode. His love interest we haven’t seen for a few episodes. His sister and mom are pretty generic. Well your reactions are carrying those episodes. I guess that is why I so much want him to get involved with other hunters. They introduce us to the S-rank girl which seems interesting and other high power people which seem interesting but so far only him soloing is boring. And also you said he changed quite a lot since episode 1 and E-rank. I liked his personality before now it’s kind of bland and uninteresting.
