To add on to what Laude mentioned you can also see that Togami is also not happy doing the “skinning” of his own crew and having to beat them up even more. Like how when he was sitting over the guy who just lost, he was thinking back to when Choji first did that and made it a rule. So even seems like it haunts him whenever he does have to do that he looks upset and sad about it. Since he’s mainly thinking of the way they used to be but before Choji became leader. Also could just be how he wanted to switch his style up but when he accepted doing the dirty part of the gang he seemed to have changed his appearance a bit by wearing glasses, braiding his hair and such possibly to create like a different personality or like he’s a different person and not actually himself who is doing these things. So you kinda see it like a mask that’s just how he has to make himself appear even though he’s really not like that. Also Sakura talking about his gang like that could be making him even more mad because that’s possibly how he viewed his gang before Choji became leader. You can kind of see it because he didn’t know that they were actually bullying a middle school kid and didn’t respect it at all because he’s trying to uphold the version of shishitoren from when he joined. For him it’s a valid reason because Choji brought him and made him feel welcome and accepted around people, he even said that when he was around people he didn’t really know how to talk to them but with Choji there we was more comfortable and able to communicate and be engaged. So he probably is more like Sakura but has to keep his mask on because he’s trying to believe that over time Choji will go back to his older self where he doesn’t seemed obsessed with power and being free. So really it’s Choji that doesn’t fully make sense really because, we would have to learn more of his backstory to understand why he views things the way he does. Since he became leader it seems like Togami regrets it because it in a way broke his friend, because since he’s at the top now it seems like for Choji it isn’t enough or worth it or that it has to be more so now he’s on a power trip in a different way. Like he wants competition something to go after or someone stronger than him. But with him being at the top now it’s like he possibly doesn’t accept it. But at the end you can see togami start to come to a realization of why is he still being so selfless for for Choji’s sake, more so why does he still have this mask on acting a way he really doesn’t feel and truly accept.

I'm surprised you can't understand the mindset here ap. Togami never experienced true comradery and happiness before meeting Choji. Through Choji he was able to feel what it was like to be a part of something beyond himself, to make connections, to grow, to strive for something. In the eyes of Togami, Choji truly was the "sun". So to see Choji achieve his one goal that he was so dedicated to, the goal that brought everyone together in the first place, and to see that goal destroy him. It was too much. To Togami, it was the definition of injustice. How could the person who brought light and joy into his life be denied the very same things after achieving his goal? It's just not right. So Togami decided then and there he wouldn't let it happen. Instead of Choji falling into despair on some absurd quest to make everyone as strong as he was, and as a result becoming ostracized by the very people he brought together Togami wanted to take that hatred upon himself. He didn't want Choji to experience the same lack of comradery, and happiness that Togami felt prior to joining up with Choji in the first place. In the eyes of Togami, it would be far better to accept all of the consequences of Choji's actions himself until the day Choji inevitably realizes his mistake. It's friendship, who cares how people perceive you, as long as the person you respect most remains untarnished even if it's their own ideals doing the tarnishing.

I think sakuras problem is holding back. I don't know for sure but from what i seen this episode he underestimates his opponents and holds back.
Now for the rest of this episode i have no idea what's going on.
