At 11:10, the news were very slow at that time, so he didn’t have a way to know that the expedition was cancelled and the armor prize would drop. Even the company from where he got the armor is in trouble as well because they sold that debt, probably at a lower prize than the value of it. At 22:50, I think that guy is almost a religious fanatic, and in his view, Lawrence is walking around with a girl that is not his wife while been too close to her. Obviously, Lawrence didn’t mean what he said, it was just the stress of the situation.
