I think the โno-fault abortionโ is a riff on โno-fault divorces,โ which I guess were still pretty controversial to these Harvard-educated women in 1983? Especially since they mentioned Catholics. The legal creation of no-fault divorces (which Catholics could theoretically get despite being Catholic cuz laws are funny that way) was a major pearl-clutching moment for the Catholic Church. And the Jane Fonda exercise thing was just a joke about those granola-eating Californians, who try to legislate wearing seat belts and other ungodly Communist ideas.
