Takasugi is not Saburou. Heโs a former comrade of Gin and Katsura. Heโs also the main antagonist for most of the series. Also most people on 1st viewing (including myself) do think the robot Saburou had merged with his human counterpart. Whatโs actually the case though, is that the robot had heard and recorded the line that the old man was obsessed with. And while it doesnโt have true emotion, it does know right from wrong.
