Hi All,
I know it has been a while since my last post due to the pandemic. I hope that you are doing well and have made it through the craziness of the last year and half in reasonably good shape.
It was a busy year for me and I continued to do research into lost Disney related films. The exciting news is that I have found some new material, which I'm hoping to get a high resolution transfer of in the coming months. When I do, I will share that with all of the supporters on this effort.
In the meantime, here is a previously lost Oswald cartoon that you may not have see. This is a four-minute and eight-second piece of animation from the once lost Oswald the Lucky Rabbit cartoon "Empty Socks," which was released on December 12, 1927. It features Oswald in an animated Christmas-themed short directed by Walt Disney with animation credited to Hugh Harman and Rollin Hamilton. It is silent as all the cartoons were prior to Steamboat Willie. The film was rediscovered in 2014 and donated to the Norwegian Film Institute and is now part of the film archive of the National Library of Norway.
I hope that you enjoy as there is only a 162 days until Christmas as of this writing.
Thank you,
-Dave
