I mean, eventually you want that cathartic moment when Roxy turns the tables and gets justice, but on the other hand there needs to be a buildup to get the emotional payoff. Roxy just dominating all of the time would be boring, as would Maiko always being in control. The struggle and the pasionate feelings are what makes it interesting.
