I try not to write about problems in my life unless they are directly related to game development, and since this has happened, I think it's only right to share it with you.
A few days ago, when I was sitting at the computer and working, everything froze, but not with a blue screen of death, as it happens, but with a matte gray. When I manually shut down and restarted the computer, I simply lost the ability to boot into Windows.
To digress a bit, I'm only proficient in the visual programs I need for my work, and I'm a complete novice in everything else.
When this happened, the first thing I did was call the coder, because he knows computers much better than I do, and because he built and customized my computer, which worked fine for 2.5 years. He's a good friend and came to me right away to help and figure out the problem. I can't fully describe what he did, and it took him a long time. Until 4 a.m. he was trying to fix what was broken in different ways.
Unfortunately, even though he's a fairly advanced user, he's never actually repaired computers himself, so he couldn't fix everything. But he helped save all the game data that could theoretically be affected, and the next day called an acquaintance who promptly came over and did the repair.
After 4 hours of repair, the problem was solved. The problem was a broken system disk (the one you see in the picture), and after replacing it and reinstalling Windows, I was able to start customizing my visual programs.
Bottom line:
There's no damage to the game data other than a few days and money spent.
Coder once again confirmed his status as a trusted best friend.
I'll start saving game data to other media even more often.
P.S. For this reason, I was not able to post a congratulatory message on the 25th.
