Hello everyone!
Today is Easter.
(Well, not exactly today. I meant to post this on time, but accidentally saved it as a draft instead of publishing it. So now I'm posting it with a delay — sorry for the mix-up.)
Still, the meaning remains: today is a special day for all Christians. And even if you follow a different faith or worldview, spring still carries the same idea — awakening after a long winter, renewal, life. I think it's the perfect moment to say it out loud: the project is alive. Work continues.
I understand that the last devblog was posted more than a year ago. And I understand how that looks from the outside.
But the silence was not a sign of abandonment. All this time, we kept working. Content kept appearing: art, animations, pieces of real work in progress.
We didn’t want to flood your feed with noise. When we post, we want it to matter — because your attention deserves better.
That said, if you'd prefer to see smaller updates — more sketches iterations or even early ideas for quests that may or may not survive to the final release depending on the project's budget — let us know. If staying closer to the development process is important to you, we're open to adjusting how we share things.
The main reason for the long gap in updates lies elsewhere: we have been developing two major updates in parallel. One story-driven — a new quest with Ai'Lu and Balta, one of the most emotionally charged parts of the project. And one focused on gameplay — new mini-games and a new scene unlocking system.
The work has been hard and slow. Personal circumstances and external factors weighed heavily, first and foremost the ongoing war in Ukraine, which directly affected many of us. Plus the classic vicious cycle: as the budget shrinks, progress slows down, and as progress slows, support drops — leading to even slower development.
This is not an excuse. It's just the reality we're fighting through, trying to bring the project to completion without losing its soul.
Right now, both updates are close to being finished. I already talked about these updates in the last devblog, so I won't repeat all the details here. Just know that everything we announced back then is still in motion — and we're sticking to the plan, even if it's taken longer than expected.
It looks like the gameplay patch 4.0 will be the first to release — possibly in an open beta format. Once we're sure about the date, we'll make a separate announcement.
I want to especially thank everyone who has stayed with us.
Your support isn't just financial aid. It's what allows us to keep working, to hire people, to create new content.
If you were ever part of this journey — know that the project lives and moves forward. And we'd be happy to walk this path with you again.
By the way, if you haven't seen it yet — there's a new scene featuring Sheriff Mary that's already out. I highly recommend checking it out.
Thank you for your patience. Thank you for your support. Thank you for being here.
