Prompt - MaKayla (MaK): I'm so ready for fall & cozy vibes (dying in fire season on the west coast 🥲). I'm thinking cozy indoor/rainy day date night for Legolas & Gimli. Warm drinks, maybe a movie or some co-op gaming turned into some tender Legolas getting railed within an inch of his life 🤌

I ended up making this not-modern, and a little sad, but only a little ;w;

They have some years together -some, but not many- before Gimli begins to notice. A tiredness in the afternoons, a different depth of sleep, that goes on longer and longer. As summer gives way to autumn, he will often find Legolas, drowsy or napping, in the dreary light of a rainy day. Valinor is calling him, and Gimli knows that his elf will not refuse forever. He tries not to think of it, the day he'll watch a boat vanish across the glistening sea, carrying his lover away from him. He watches the rain fall, and does not think of it, as he feels Legolas shift awake beside him.

"Hm, still raining?" The elf asks as if he doesn't already know.

"Aye."

Legolas smiles, a pale thing in the dim light. Gimli does not think it should hurt his heart this much, when he already knows how it will end. "A shame. This time of year, the sunlight in the trees is beautiful. I wanted you to see it."
