I ended up scratching two itches at once, trying to capture a Falchion and getting a new creature item in the works. I liked it so much, I ended up doing both item evolutions (albeit simply) for table play, including the charged state trigger. A little bit more fantasy compared to my more grounded takes.

Limbcutter! Partially inspired by the most lethal amputation ever, and the stories of old sawbones. This was a fun experiment to push the boundaries, and tie directly into an item being a sheath for an even greater secret. All in all i still love the idea of a shortsword-saw.
