2022-03-05 22:38:22 +0000 UTC View PostThis was recorded on April 2, 2019 and intended to be the third episode of the FranCast, but I decided not to publish it at the time because it was a downer topic and I wanted the podcast to be completely positive and upbeat - but it is a good installment so I'm publishing it here as it was originally intended.
This is the second episode of the FranCast, recorded on March 9, 2019.
2022-03-05 21:04:16 +0000 UTC View PostMy old podcast host is no more but I thought I'd take the time to put up the past episodes here on them there YouTubes.... This first episode of the FranCast was recorded on May 25, 2019.
2022-03-05 21:03:01 +0000 UTC View PostRight out of the box! This will be a lot of fun...
2022-02-27 18:12:21 +0000 UTC View PostGoodbye FranLab 2.0 - but one last visit to do something special with new toy. Enjoy!
2022-02-27 16:50:28 +0000 UTC View PostI'm trying this out. If you like it I'll do more!
2022-02-07 04:05:29 +0000 UTC View PostI'm not hearing talk about this from engineers, but it is interesting enough a topic that I think we should - so please discuss!
2022-02-03 22:20:29 +0000 UTC View PostI sure wish they'd put some money and time into getting spectacular launch shots again like they did so well in the Apollo and Shuttle days. Bring back high speed film I say! A little love goes a long way for posterity.
2022-02-01 03:07:13 +0000 UTC View PostIt's a weird phenomenon, but in the right circumstances a discharged battery in series with others can reverse it's charge. In fact, here's one now! Enjoy!
2022-01-24 14:45:18 +0000 UTC View PostThree Years and 400 videos later, we look back on the brief Camelot that was FranLab 2.0.... And on to FranLab 3.0! Enjoy!
2022-01-24 03:52:23 +0000 UTC View PostOn to FranLab 3.0.... in a month or so. Let's hope the viewers will be there when the Lab returns!
2022-01-20 20:04:11 +0000 UTC View PostMeticulously ordered parts bins while sure nice to have while they lasted. RIP little parts....
2022-01-17 00:59:36 +0000 UTC View Post...before I pack up the arcade for the truck tomorrow. Yes - Space Attack, the custom multicade I built over 20 years ago is still cranking with a real arcade CRT - none of that converted TV tube or LCD garbage. Real Arcade Monitors have Curves Dammit! Now time to wrap it up for the truck.
Here we go again!
2022-01-08 20:47:19 +0000 UTC View PostWow - you'd think that looking like this I'd be all done packing.... but no.
2022-01-06 23:38:41 +0000 UTC View PostHey Gang!
My failed livestream on the 25th was a perfect ending to a shitberg of a year, but now that the fun is over I am packing up the last of the Lab. I did a final inventory and had to cull out parts and supplies to go to the Vault since we will not have quite the room at the new space as we had here. But in January...
2021-12-28 16:52:06 +0000 UTC View PostThis is part of what no one saw live on Christmas as was intended. Oh the Humanity! It was all due to a flailed encoder and I was stuck on Xmas with no ability to broadcast, but this is some of what would have gone out live. I had already broken down the projector screen some other stuff in an angry huff...
2021-12-26 07:42:28 +0000 UTC View PostThis gorgeous candy-colored 16mm reel about Light sources is preserved in luscious Kodachrome and remains a feast for the eyes - even if much of the film is underexposed. I think that in stopping down the daylight shots they were going for the whole 'shadows' thing. Anyway - Enjoy!
Time for round two - this time to talk about my talking about Blackjack in the previous video. And that's the last I'm gonna say about that. Enjoy!
2021-12-20 23:03:18 +0000 UTC View PostWatch as I play and give my tips on how to play real Atlantic City Blackjack with perfect strategy - or as near to perfect as I play. Enjoy!
2021-12-19 06:27:44 +0000 UTC View PostI for one would never want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane, but for those who might insist on doing a public speech about that this little 16mm reel might help you out. Yes, they are laughing at you... and disagreeing with you... and they think you look hideous - but hey... If they didn't want to listen to you you woul...
2021-12-16 14:01:43 +0000 UTC View PostThis classic 16mm McGraw-Hill film is sending all kinds of glassware right to the trash, cause with reactions like these you're not doing any washing. This film shows that there really was nothing more exciting than old-school open beaker over Bunsen Burner chemistry. Enjoy!
This amazingly geeky 16mm reel really captures the extremely grounded scientific discipline that defined research laboratories in the mid-20th Century. Research research and more research. I am always stunned when people comment today in the videos I put up that we must have gotten that 60's tech from crashed UFO's, because of course...
