Emphasizing cuteness for this one.

2021-12-08 05:53:34 +0000 UTC View PostStill alive! My shoulder isn't much better and I'm trying to art little by little. I anxiously await approval on health insurance so fingers crossed.
Since it's December I'm going to continue to do weekday updates with the exception of days I'm going to a convention. So I'm going to be at Midwest Fur Fest, my first furry con, in Chic...
2021-12-02 03:29:06 +0000 UTC View PostHello patrons
Thanks for sticking with me. I'm still planning on coming back full time in December but for now I'm doing mild work until the shoulder starts to hint at twinging then stopping. Today's work is a Rivet that will become a woodcut at MFF.
2021-11-23 07:13:26 +0000 UTC View PostUPDATE.
My shoulder hurts. I need to get it looked at by a doctor, but I've been denied to even apply for reduced health insurance rates due to poverty until December. (regular rates being beyond unaffordable for me). I can't get a straight answer as to why.
So, this means I can't art. At least, not much. I even tried dra...
2021-10-28 05:51:30 +0000 UTC View PostDone initially for commission concept but ended up not being as good as the previously finished commission so they were set to the side.
I might finish them eventually, possibly the same pose with different characters.
I'll be away at a con for the next few days. Hopefully that'll give the shoulder some time to heal. I've got some inks queued up for while I'm gone so there'll still be posts.
2021-10-20 06:04:50 +0000 UTC View PostStill recovering with the shoulder unfortunately. I go back and forth between hopeful and in pain so there's a lot to figure out/fix before I can get back to art even part time.
In the meantime I may as well talk about these pieces. The jackal with a bun was an initial pass on a future comic that will be called "a study in fabric" fe...
2021-10-19 07:59:18 +0000 UTC View PostI have a little bit more to go but I don't want to risk permanent injury so I'm going to be taking a few days off or at least very very light.
2021-10-16 10:05:58 +0000 UTC View PostI should not have pushed myself to finish this. For three hours it was 'five more minutes just gotta finish this one thing and it'll be done, but I don't know if it even is done.
At the same time. It kinda looks neat. So that's nice.
2021-10-15 09:50:11 +0000 UTC View PostStill fiddling with the sketch here but its coming together.
2021-10-14 09:28:41 +0000 UTC View PostI'm not sure on the lighting here. I like the muted colors but people do tend to like brighter colors in general. Preferences in art are difficult to parse as they're both fine.
2021-10-13 10:46:01 +0000 UTC View PostI'd like to do some comic stuff, but whom shall be in it?
(Still designing the pins from september. I don't expect them to be done and created till Mid November)
2021-10-12 09:23:53 +0000 UTC View PostHad fun with the color palette with this one.
Does this mean I'm back at full strength? Unfortunately not. It took all weekend and a good portion of today to finish this when it should've been a one day job. Taking it easy is driving me a bit crazy, but hopefully productive in the non art side of art.
2021-10-12 09:20:58 +0000 UTC View PostMost sketches never make it past the sketch stage, abandoned on a random layer or file to be forgotten forever. Here's one of Velvet with Helen and Shiva of a silly idea that never finished.
2021-10-09 10:18:07 +0000 UTC View PostA bit of a start to finish process here with the main piece. I usually delete the initial sketch layers but they survived this particular psd, so here's how it goes, though the initial gesture sketch is lost. It's the usual rough to detailed business you see with all artists. One of the big important bits of the final sketch are all ...
2021-10-07 08:52:24 +0000 UTC View PostYou'll see that the hair always grabs the attention in the ink because most of the structure of the hair is in the inks. But with something like a back, sometimes inks don't have much to them at all. Carbene's back was a simple sketch added to with more painterly strokes to define all her little muscles.
Sometimes entire sections get cut f...
2021-10-06 09:17:57 +0000 UTC View PostSharing inks cause I'm still recovering. Good news is that the shoulder is feeling slightly better, so I'll be back to full strength eventually.
There's some mild discrepancy between these and the final versions because I often use more painterly techniques for the eyes or crevices and sometimes these areas just don't get inked, but for ...
Still working on it but its getting closer.
2021-10-01 07:36:16 +0000 UTC View PostHopefully I'll be able to finish it off with the time I'll have for art tomorrow.
2021-09-30 09:06:11 +0000 UTC View PostGood news: In future updates I'll be releasing a plethora of sketches and inks from previous works as well as talking a bit about my progress. If there's a specific piece you'd like to see feel free to DM me here or on discord.
