Painting the Chest and Arms
The chest is always a little tricky, is a wide open surface so a treat it separately, the I move to the shoulders and the arms, I leave the hands for last (not my favorites)

2020-02-11 18:53:27 +0000 UTC View PostOne of my favorite stages, since I knew this piece would have a dark, moody background, I tried to make the skin very shiny and luminous.
2020-02-11 18:48:24 +0000 UTC View PostHere's when knowing a little anatomy comes handy, I separate the body by muscle groups, it helps to avoid a lot of blending in the future.
2020-02-11 18:42:34 +0000 UTC View PostI have to be honest, this was the 2nd coloring attempt, the first one had so many issues that I had to start all over again, So I went very slowly, shading one part at the time... Things I've learned: most of the structure of Christian's face is on the superior part, those cheekbones are holding everything up, the nose is very angular but rounde...

2020-02-04 20:07:29 +0000 UTC View PostCan you imagine the smell of those Bat-Muscles and Bat-Crevasses after a long night of fighting crime (sorry, too much?)
In total, it took me around 2 months to finish this illustration, so the next one is gonna be a little less elaborated ππ€£
2020-02-04 19:54:27 +0000 UTC View PostOf course I'm known for materializing fantasies, this will not be an exception. This body, although is idealized, is not that far away from Christian's physique in the Dark Knight trilogy π€π€π€π¦
2020-02-04 19:39:21 +0000 UTC View PostNow here are some personal details, I love the way Christian Bale smiles like kinda shy, and unenthusiastic lol. I also prefer him with a little stubble, and I totally love his wavy, dark hair... Also, in my opinion, he's the one that looks better in the Bat-suit.
2020-02-04 19:31:26 +0000 UTC View PostThis is officially the first Batman illustration that I've ever posted, ever. Which is funny cause Batman is my favorite superhero, ever. I guess I avoid the subjects that I truly love, to prevent the frustration and disappointment of not getting it right...

2020-02-04 19:21:10 +0000 UTC View PostJanuary was packed with art, I wanted to start 2020 with the right attitude, but February is my 1st Anniversary on Patreon! As a special Thank you for your love and support, I prepared one of the most ambitious portraits I've ever made... Hope you like it ππ€π€π€π¦π¦
2020-01-28 17:51:17 +0000 UTC View PostThe body hair adds so much detail, without it it looks more painterly.
2020-01-28 17:45:15 +0000 UTC View PostDid I ever showed you this? I was cleaning a hard drive and I found this old illustration.
Way before the fuhrerdoodles I used to make this self-portrait cartoons, tackling my own insecurities and fears... this one is about being brave, I grew up in a very "Macho coded" environment, and any sign of fear was severely suppressed. As an adult...
2020-01-28 17:40:26 +0000 UTC View PostThis one was very difficult... just when you think you got things figured out, a challenge comes in the form of a beautiful billionaire that fights crime ππ€
2020-01-28 17:16:01 +0000 UTC View PostThe Background is kinda simple but very effective, and because is so tight and narrow, it frames the body of the subject and looks more "busy" than it actually is, again, I love this color palette, the blue to yellow gradient is one of my faves.
2020-01-21 20:51:45 +0000 UTC View PostBack in the day my Photoshop files were a little different, I had to merge some layers to make the file under 200 MB, but overall is the same presentation, and you can really see how obsessive I can be with some almost unnoticeable adjustment layers.
2020-01-21 20:36:54 +0000 UTC View PostI didn't really saved a lot of progress shots of this one, back in the day I was working two jobs and using different computers trough out the day, so I kept the amount of files to a minimum, But here you can see how important are the textures on the Armour, and the big difference the highlights made on the skin.
2020-01-21 20:28:22 +0000 UTC View PostI made this illustration in 2017... as always I was experimenting, I got inspired by one of those super expensive collectibles by Sideshow (photos of it), I love this color palette and the background stills one of my all time favorites, I think I'm going to use that structure again.
I imagined that if there was a painting of Prince Adam ha...
2020-01-21 20:21:14 +0000 UTC View PostI planned the coloring including the shading for the bodyhair, so it looks like he's extra tanned, still pretty hot.

2020-01-14 23:50:23 +0000 UTC View PostThe original request was to give him some bodyhair, but I kinda love him smooth π
2020-01-14 23:46:25 +0000 UTC View PostI made his body hair very subtle, but the smooth version is definitely my favorite.
2020-01-14 23:43:45 +0000 UTC View PostThis very cool, texture set, includes some subtle but very effective brushes, and some others not so subtle, I call it the particle splatter, you can see defined particles, like splatting paint on paper with a tooth brush. I've gather them over the years, and now I'm passing them to you, use them wisely.
2020-01-14 22:41:52 +0000 UTC View PostI saved this progress shot of a stage that I really like, before adding the finest details, I turn off the lines layer and it looks like an oil painting.
2020-01-14 22:36:21 +0000 UTC View PostWhen I'm working on a wide skin surface, I like to separate it in smaller, easier to handle groups, the trick to avoid visible divisions, is to follow the muscle groups, it also helps to get a better understanding of the subjects anatomy.
2020-01-14 22:32:05 +0000 UTC View PostBecause of the angle, is a very quick neck, a very useful trick is to add a lot of texture under the chin to simulate stubble and make a fast transition from the medium shades to the darkest, without too much blending.
2020-01-14 22:26:21 +0000 UTC View PostFor this portrait I spent more time on the dark areas, the lighter ones went kinda fast. Even when I used several references I ended up changing the color palette to fit the art-nouveau style, sometimes if you just copy the photos the end result looks gray-ish and dull, some things only look good in photos, for paintings or illustrations you hav...
