Zandar's Saga 76
This guy is truly horrible.
It's weird that this church uses the same holy symbol as the Mephitist church. Fuma would certainly never condone such behavior from one of her priests!

Here comes trouble.
Lazlo mentioned in the confessional that his uncle was the Cardinal, which is how he was able to get Zandar into the convent.
HE FELL FOR IT!
This is how I might have to handle sex scenes in the new pages now that the Saga is on Patreon.
Next page will have to be skipped. It shows Zandar learning to read, and paying for her lessons. Lazlo says the nuns will allow Zandar to walk in the quad only if she takes vows, which he obviously does not want her to...

The reference to a hole in the wall in panel 5 is to the encounter in the confessional, which I skipped for this recap. It is implied that Lazlo had a standing arrangement with the Guild for this service.
Here we are in the convent. Looks like the churchmen bought Zandar's preposterous story - well, at least some of them did.

Yes, that's the Lazlo who took Zandar's "confession."
Brother Philip truly has a cleric's priorities.
The two skipped pages in the confessional involved Zandar asking Father Lazlo for protection from the Prostitutes' Guild. She claimed that with the Guildmistress dead, this was the perfect opportunity for her to get away and join a convent. She did a .. "special favor" for Lazlo in the confession booth, to convince him of her sincerity....

Dang it, there was some real dramatic stuff on those pages .. but there was also full frontal nudity, and I want this recap to be public.
Years went by. Wulfrida got old, but Zandar remained the same. Zandar could use bodymagic to temporarily revitalize Wulfrida, but she could not reverse time, and eventually her partner died. T...

2017-04-28 02:21:06 +0000 UTC View PostWell, that was a bigger gap than I expected. All of those pages had something, of varying degrees of strength, and I don't want to put any of this recap in the Patrons-only feed...

Readers at the time this first came out noticed that Wulfrida looks like Springfield from the first story. Actually, since this is supposed to have happened earlier, it would be more accurate to say that Springfield looks like Wulf...

Dig that crazy Zip-a-Tone!
Actually it was done with a Photoshop filter. I don't think Zip-a-Tone has been made since the early 1990s. This reminds me that I haven't described my creation process.
I draw these pages on paper (often the back of random scrap sheets, which I impulsively collect) with a blue pencil, then ink them, l...

Panel 1: I know this Old Crow!
The Ladybird Ixie's "Order" would have to be The Sisterhood, but you didn't hear that from me.
Don't go hunting for these leaves; they do not exist, and I will not be held responsible for anything you may eat or insert into your orifices.
Panel 2: Where are you? (or if you're German, Who are you?)
The Ladybird's importance has been overlooked both in Zandar's Saga and in the Ballad of Adler Young. Keep your eye on this character and her innumerable sisters.

2017-04-28 01:15:11 +0000 UTC View PostTranslation, panel 5: How is that done?
Gross. Rest assured, I didn't even show the next scene in the original, so you're doubly safe from seeing it here.
Translation of that pidgin Old English:
Panel 2 - What are you saying?
Panel 3 - Eala! (You'll see this word a lot in the story. It's a meaningless exclamation, like "wow!" or "Golly!")
Panel 4 - I am a doppelganger? (a twin? a changeling?)
Panel 5 - What happened to the other skunk-child?
I must confess I'm a little mystified as to who exactly the Old Crow is talking about when he refers to his "master." Presumably that would be High King Adler I "the Prudent" .. but why would elves concern themselves with the doings of some petty lowfolk lord?
That string of numbers next to my signature in the first panel .. that's my wacky Metric Date notation. People have asked, and I have explained, so FOR THE RECORD, here's how it works: The year is divided up into 100 units of 3.65 days each. I came up with a formula to convert from calendar time to metric time because a standard d...
