Finally found a working SCSI CD ROM for the cursed Mac... that I cannibalized from my UMAX! Installing 7.5 on my SCSI2SD for hopefully finally a stable system.

Hello Patreon friends! This is the early access release of my video on  Darth Maccus, just for you!  

I recently picked up this crazy black compact Mac that looks to be a  Macintosh SE with a 1GB Jaz drive instead of a floppy, and a CD ROM hacked into the case! I have no idea what's going on with this machine,  so let's...

Not a Mac, but...

"It's a Unix machine! I know this!" These Silicon Graphics Indys were sort of like alternate-universe Macs, making a "low end" version of their super computers that rendered Jurassic Park to try and get a bit of Apple's action in the desktop publishing world. I've always wanted one of these beasts.

Working on some shirts!

I've been having a lot of fun working on some shirts based on some of the photos I've taken of some of my machines. This one is the motherboard from my Apple IIGS with kind of a purpley vaporwave color scheme. It's the same picture I use on my channel, but tweaked so you can read the component names on the board.

What do you think?

There is an alarming amount of craft tape holding this whole thing together. I especially like the four random speakers wired together inside the front bezel.

Chonky RAM

Just look at these enormous RAM sticks! These 128mb modules came with the UMAX SuperMac, and are basically four 32mb modules stuck together

I can't believe it, I was invited to be a guest on one of my favorite podcasts - the Mac Yak! It streams on YouTube tonight at 8pm eastern, and we'll be doing a special retro-Mac themed episode. I'm super nervous and excited about it :)

I've got UMAX all over the place

So far more of my fixes have gone wrong than right, but I'm optimistic and I freaking love this super interesting Mac clone.

This UMAX keyboard seems to have yellowed just a bit over the years. Good thing it's near 100 degrees out. Time for a peroxide bath!

Man, you could really make some cool stuff with Hypercard. Case in point - Myst was written in Hypercard. I wonder what it would be like to write a game in Hypercard today...

Picked up this hardy little fellow today

I picked up this lovely condition Powerbook 540c today, an amazing little machines with one of the best active matrix screens of this generation. If only I had a power supply!

It even came with some stickers!

I bought some parts on eBay, and they came in this old PowerBook 190cs retail box. I thought you might get a kick out of seeing the original label!

About to run some Geekbench!

I had a request to run Geekbench benchmarks on the Beige G4 - such a good idea! I can't believe I didn't think to do that. So now I'm getting some last-minute footage for next week's installment on the Beige G4 upgrade extravaganza!

It has a WORKING FREAKING BATTERY

My new Powerbook 1400C/166 came with a huge shocker... literally. It has a working battery! I charged it, and I've left it running with the screen on for two hours no and it's only at 50%.

Im sure the SSD I put in there is helping :)
