For me, a sandbox wouldn't be a sandbox without fishing activity. In games that I played, like Stardew Valley, Skyrim, or anything that is open-world, fishing activities somehow exist. Whether it's one way to relax from roaming around or just doing it as a requirement to get a reward, it's there.
