Hay Bale Races (Wip1)

Round hay bales lined up in a row.

I wanted to get some good texture and color going. It's one of the earlier paintings for Point Nowhere, so I wanted to capture some rustic nature feel.

This isn't the finished piece. There'll be some characters added, and this background will be cleaned up a little.

First Connection (Wip1)

Music is a really important element to the story.

Without spoiling too much, Feargus and Dale are both naturals with music. They connect very deeply with it, and can play their instruments with an almost uncanny ease for their age. They connect with music very emotionally, and use it to release what they're feeling.

This is the thumbnail of the first time we see the young gang: Dale up front atop the hill with his three friends around him, and young Feargus approaching them all for the first time.

This is -not- representative of the finished paintings in Point Nowhere, and it's actually not even part of the official series of pictures for the story.

This is an initial paint test I experimented with in the very beginning of the entire project, that I thought might be worth showing for the sake of interest.

Hay Bale Races (web)

One of the games the kids would play, was hay bale races. They'd line up the round hay bales, run and jump from bale to bale, racing to the other side. Dale is aggressive and agile. Feargus is a large brute, but makes up for his size with determination. A little bit of their unique personalities come out during these kind of games....
