He wasn't nervous, exactly, but it was anticipation that kept him moving, fidgeting. He didn't want to seem too eager, but he didn't want to chance keeping his new friend waiting. I recall feeling like I had cheated by using a 3D model for John's jeep instead of sketching it from scratch, and that I couldn't let anyone know. But I think it's pretty obvious when you look at the final page...

Often I make sketches without knowing if I'll post them to Patreon, since it's easier to doodle without the certainty that anyone else will see them. Sometimes I'll go weeks in-between doodling sessions, not really on purpose, and be amazed at the length of time since I've sketched last. Sketching is genuinely fun, but starting can be very hard....
