After some time to sit and stew, I went back and decided to try a thicker outlined style. This would let me keep the rich, vibrant colors and better rendering/shading (which I liked), while creating that cartoony look present before.

Shaun's base sprites are mostly finished, groundwork wise! Costumes and decals are next. We've taken some time to re-do his hair with more research involved (texture, roots, etc..) and of course, x2 the eyeliner.
