Aged like a fine wine

Just a quick note on the aging of the Necronomicon pages. I have settled on a system of aging that will allow me to be consistent from Leaf 001 to Leaf 200. This was really important to me as the goal is to make a finished product that will look like a cohesive whole.

At the same time, it is a process that is done by hand, so each individual page...

So maybe as soon as today you should be seeing an envelope from Propping Up the Mythos in your mailbox. 

The process of making and distributing these pages is a new undertaking and I already see ways to improve it for next month!

Judging a book...

This is my pick for what the Necronomicon should look like. The Latin phrase "Cave Lector" translates to "reader beware". A very apt warning...

This book was actually a collection of Protestant writings collected in a Roman Catholic library during the Reformation.

A title...

In the Strange Case of Charles Dexter Ward the Necronomicon is discovered hidden inside the cover of the Quran. I imagine most if not all copies would be similarly hidden. Once opened, the title page would proclaim the truth. But who would publish such a blasphemous book? We'll explore that in a later post!
