since the sketch threads are gonna be locked behind the $5 tier from here on, i thought i'd make separate threads for the sketches i share on discord and socials in case some of you don't check out those other sites.

sketches week 38

new thread! gonna update it on wednesday and friday, see if that works better than daily updates. also trying a different format, kinda like a blog post with embedded images. might be cumbersome to scroll through unless i resize stuff though. dunno.

testing testing, new tier. i'm thinking i'll make a new thread every sunday, adding sketches to it during the week. patreon should send out notifications when a thread has been updated.

edit: trying out the notification-on-edit feature. maybe posting sketches in batches would be smoother, but i do like sharing the sketches as they're done....

new batch ready. got another mini-narrative done! those have turned out to be very fun to do.

gonna try to get that separate sketch tier published before the next batch of these. been a bit swamped.

Skeches 8/23

The first sketch is kinda fun. It has a narrative to it -- woman at work, blouse popping open during a stretch, then an awkward(or not so awkward) moment with a coworker. I'm spending the coming week doing master/environment studies, so no batch of sketches next week. Back to the usual schedule after that.

i quite like the color sketches from this batch. would love to flesh out all of those, creating a small narrative sequence of paintings. 

though that glory hole sketch is kinda fun too. :)

tug

this felt alright! there was enough time to flesh out the parts i wanted to focus on (face/general lighting) but also enough time pressure to keep me from straying outside of that narrow focus. wanna try this again once the yellow bikini pic is finished, see if the feeling sticks around.

new batch! 

the golden bikini pic is still nowhere near finished. i expanded the canvas somewhat and the added environmental stuff is taking up a fair amount of time. lots of flowers, like in the bethrie ych pic. i like how it's shaping up and don't want to rush it, but i also don't want to go too long without having something to show...

i tried sticking to a theme this week -- drawing sharlene, figuring out her personality and how to express it through posing and scenarios. she seems like the confident, charismatic type to me.

Sharlene Character Model Sheet

Dry, technical drawings, but I think that helped keep it low stress. Working on these felt kinda chill, which is not something I'd ever expect when trying to capture a character's likeness. Hardest thing there is for me.

i'm cancelling the nelly + cutie pic. sorry, can't seem to get it done. i'm also taking a step back from the polls/suggestions cycle. at some point those pics became a source of stress, and nowadays i dread working on them. i'm going to draw whatever comes to mind for a while.
