Small Arms of WWI Primer 080: German MG08
FINALLY got this cleared. Now I need a nap.
Or I'll just hang out on Discord and play video games before getting back to it.

Sorry to double up but I keep forgetting to make this point.
I have about a terabyte of historical footage and images all geared towards WWI and firearms from our short list. Basically, since the beginning of this project whenever I go archive digging I haul in anything that I can identify as potentially useful in the future. Easily I...

We've had a bit of a catch 22 here at C&Rsenal: struggle to find a gun and shoot it. Episode released, 3 offers to loan what we no longer need.
Also the longer we spend in WWI, the harder the pieces become to borrow and shoot.
My solution for both? What if, wh...
2018-07-16 02:28:41 +0000 UTC View PostI'm honestly knee deep in Maxim script.
Tricky bit: up to page 26 on the FIRST episode on Maxim. Problem is only 2/3rds done and it already 6 pages over our longest so far....
2018-07-03 03:29:23 +0000 UTC View PostWe've had an idea to do a brief review of each gun on the backburner for years. Chad over at IV8888 gave me a pretty firm push and I'd be a fool to pass up good advice from an experienced hand.
So, in a format even Instagram can handle, here is Mae reviewer the Revolver 1892.
Once again, thank you all for making the show possible.
Hopefully a little exposure will go a long way to help us grow!
2018-06-18 20:56:29 +0000 UTC View PostThroughout the growth of the show I've been very careful to maintain a professional but available demeanor. Many, many times small emergencies and even large ones have made me feel unsettled, unsure, or just plain scared. I have always taken a deep breath and kept it away from the audience.
But for the moment, since all of you are con...

I'm currently finishing repairs on an 08 and Jeff from the Lewis Gun episode has sent over a Hotchkiss 1914 and is shipping the final bits I need for the Maxim. Thanks Jeff

2018-06-05 03:43:25 +0000 UTC View PostSorry for startling everyone! The show is still very solid and growing.
Some of you were kind enough to up your donations but I assure you it's not something I'd ask for! $1 is enough.
The biggest help for C&Rsenal at this phase is public awareness. Share the videos, share the images, follow the social media...
2018-05-31 22:39:28 +0000 UTC View PostUnfortunately it looks like I won't be able to squeeze in a machine gun episode. Some mechanical issues have tied us down just a few days too long to make it happen without my hair falling out.
However, a big part of this is because an opportunity opened to do a collab with another Southeastern channel. So stay tuned there.

After a lot of attention Bloke recreceived some sort of manual review and his channel is back up. However, he did receive a strike on one video: loading metallic cartridges for the 1866 Chassepot.
YouTube did, essentially, ban all handloading videos in their new policy roll out. BUT as with so many of these sorts of changes people believed it was...
2018-05-24 17:57:33 +0000 UTC View PostJeff over at Taofledermaus has been a HUGE supporter of the Primer series and repeatedly exposed us to his much larger audience. As a thank you Mae and I helped put together a poster for his channel, the C&Rsenal way. Being too gracious, he's offered to share the proceeds.
If you happen to be a fan of Tao's, go nuts. If...
Hello everyone,
I promised to stay politically neutral with the show BUT still update you with matters that may affect our production. Right now we are carefully watching the termination of Bloke on the Range's account.
Before anyone reacts, however, it is best to understand ...

You guys have had access to this video for a while now but I suppose over a year is enough lead time.
The Peerless is over at the print shop if you're interested.

1. We've had a little project going with Manticore Arms to recreate a prototype Remington 11 trenchgun.
Somewhere in this process they realized they would like to sponsor the show. We could use the help, the show does not overlap with sales of anything modern so there is no risk of bias, and they have given us zero hooks/demands...
So Patreon apparently sends me an email when one of you makes a post. But it does NOT appear in my on-site notifications.
I have some catching up to do.
2018-05-11 18:40:58 +0000 UTC View PostAll right gang, the moment is here. Hopefully not a complete disappointment.
This time saved has allowed us to settle a number of issues that have been tying up production. We're planning to start back up in 2 weeks with a deeper dive on the Mausers.
2018-05-08 02:46:33 +0000 UTC View PostOK guys I've pulled the questions from the old thread.
Some were a bit specific or vaguely overlapped other questions, and we have a bit of a time limit. So I'm sorry to say not EVERYTHING will be addressed in one go.
But we have a lot to answer. We'll get filming and drop it on Tuesday.

2018-04-28 17:59:04 +0000 UTC View PostThe Primer series is constrained by 3 factors:
1. My skill as a researcher and administrator

As we've grown I've gotten better at pl...
