2018-10-17 23:56:03 +0000 UTC View PostWhen beginning a sculpt, I like to put my characters in a T-Pose. This lets me double check all the proportions.
Then I will make the arm two separate objects. The shoulder to elbow would be one, and the elbow to the wrist would be the other. I will then move this around to achieve the pose I want while keeping my proportions in ...
2018-10-17 21:00:01 +0000 UTC View PostWorld of Warcraft characters are very detailed, so it is important cut yourself some slack! If you fixate on every detail, you might suck the fun right out of sculpting.
There are so many aspects of this that I wanted to "perfect" but really, just make the whole piece look cohesive. Small errors will get lost if the whole piece looks s...

1) Mask out areas you want texture on.
2) Invert the mask.
3) Choose alpha and brush

The details like bags, belts, and stitching goes a long way.
This was such a fun design!
Sculpting Tip
Don't fight your brushes. Let them do the work for you. What I mean is make sure you consider the way you want to influence the mesh. You could just use clay build-up and move for the entire sculpt. But if you want to work efficiently, use a variety of br...

Sculpting Tip
How to take great pictures of your sculpt:
This is a gruesome/enchanting sculpt I'm working on! It will be a huge 6 inch tall 3D print.
SCULPTING TIP

2018-10-03 17:00:00 +0000 UTC View PostGetting the general shapes done for this commission! I make the clothes and hair by masking out an area, and then extracting it.
I like using that method because it lets me treat different elements of the sculpt as separate objects. Meaning I can handle my subdivision levels differently for each piece.
2018-10-02 20:00:28 +0000 UTC View PostThe armor was made by masking an area, and then extracting it. After that I played around with Dynamesh and Claypolish.
I usually extract to 0.02, and then claypolish. Sometimes it looks a bit pixelated, and that is when I'll use Dynamesh around 200 resolution.
