Waterwomen like Minnow have an interesting structure between their eyes that acts like sonar, letting them "see" and communicate with each other in the darkest of waters. Works well as a disgusting wet zombie detector too.

If you'll recall at the beginning of this scene, a pair of two-toes were being threatened by a human tough to "finish a job." We can assume this was it. I would say their reticence probably had more to do with the risks involved than any guilt towards the targets. There's a lot of bad blood between Cresce and the lizards.

Lots of handsome figures in the middle scene. I think there's something particularly creepy about the shirtless pot-bellied dude just staring at the guards and getting rained on. And he's not even one of the attackers! Just never go to Sharteshane, it is only full of bad things.

This is a good page for a high-res view, especially the bottom panel. I don't think I'd ever want to live in Sharteshane, but they do have pretty unhindered access to all Kasslyne's most iconic features, like saddlehounds, plods, starflies, Two-toes, and Beadman's Better Pymarics. Colourfully diverse population too. Just don't take any deep breaths...

The shrine was a lot of fun to design. I wanted it to look homey even though there are skulls on the walls and it's a place a lot of people have been coming for a long time to worship. Welcoming but also eerie.

They've been gone a few months. Duane is not feeling celebratory and just wants to see Leysa and the kids. Lemuel's spotted a few cute girls in the crowd and woo, come by later and meet my vliegeng.  Doggos aren't entirely sure what's going on but they're cool with it.

Christmas means carnage
