I stepped out of the Omni Gate and straight into a damn oven.

Or so it felt like anyway.

Waves of heat blurred my vision and as I looked about me, I was almost certain that the gate had malfunctioned and had sent me back to a Hell World again. The similarities weren’t lost on Blue Rose or Mal’Kira either and we all gave each othe...

“Holy shit, Chun! What the hell happened to you?”

The words of alarm came from Mu Lin who was waiting for us as Ling Wei and I stepped through the Omni Gate and back onto the spaceport hub of Yee Guo. My other companions looked just as shocked as she was, reacting to the ‘fake legionnaires’ blood now staining my robes.

I sat down with the empress, bloody clothes and all.

It didn’t seem like she cared too much though, more interested in sampling the decadent desserts, strewn across the table. Up close, I could see that Lunalah was indeed a near carbon copy of her mother and if the rules of the prior engagement were any judge, she was a large contributor...

The royal guests left their dining tables and servants began clearing them, turning the lawn into a battleground. I glanced at Ling Wei who was fidgeting nervously beside me. She couldn’t help with the battle but perhaps she could help with something else.

“Any advice on how I should play this, Ling Wei?”

“Play this? What do ...

I walked into the portal and a stream of multicolored lights flashed before my eyes. I was then sucked through what felt like a spectral kaleidoscope of shifting and twirling tunnels, moving at breakneck speed. It felt different than traversing through the demonic gates on the spiritual realm though. More physical, with my actual body feeling th...

I felt like I deserved a level up in the spiritual fortitude department after enduring my spectral romp with the Princess, but all I got to show for it were some horrible memories and a mental trigger of now, greater than normal revulsion, anytime I smelled rotten fish.

Still, it came with some benefits.

Lunalah basically left me and...

Lunalah made it abundantly clear who was invited to dinner and who was not, issuing my entourage a passive aggressive invitation to dine with the rest of the crew within the servant’s gally on the lower decks. As they departed with nothing but cheers and smiles, in anticipation of the food and drinking fest that would soon commence, I couldn...

I stood within the pre-dawn rays of the Bloodmoon, slowly cultivating my spiritual resilience as I allowed the Dark Frenzy to ebb just slightly into the core of my Dantian before pushing it back out again via cycling.

It was an unnerving feeling.

Like taking a deep breath while underwater.

It went against every instinct to allo...

The bravado of my promise was starting to wear thin as the spires of the Grand Imperial Palace of Li Wan province came into view. It had only been a few days since I’d met with Xi Xha and Mu Lin, but I’d done a lot of preparation since then. As the skiff descended for landing, I recalled the three-hour long conversation I’d had with Fia on...

Running a city was a hell of a lot harder than I figured it would be.

Not that I thought it was going to be easy, but there was a lot more bull shit to deal with than I had anticipated. Although master Hei Dong said I was the one who had to make all the decisions, and I was, it was he who was setting the pace.

Since my first official...

I filled Kelsey and Fia in on the details as we made our way back to the village center.

Fia knew about our secret path, but I had to be careful not to share too many details of my encounter as to spare her sanity. Regardless of her being a Core Realm cultivator, these were still glimpses into the unknown.

Waves of tremendous pressure washed over me as I descended through the darkness.

I was into the unknown for sure now.

My soul boiled with rage as my eyes fixed on the symbol.

“It’s alright, mother. Max can handle this.”

“Handle what?” Hei Dong said.

“Not what,” I said as my ire surged....

Hey guys!

First, I want to say thanks to all of you for the well wishes for my dad. It's been a tough couple of weeks going back and forth to the hospital and working remotely at the same time. Sadly, it doesn't look like there is much the doctors can do for his heart and we as a family are making the necessary preparations.

I handed Hein a blindfold and he scoffed at it.

“What’s this?”

Although I wasn’t expecting to run into any Star Born demons, just the sight of normal ones could still send someone loopy.
