Juan is dealing with his old friend's transformation rather well.

I had originally wanted Huckleberry to be blue, but the colorist liked brown and I decided it was better that way after all.

Diana is still bugged by the cartoon character's large knockers. She's torn between being offended and being attracted to them.

This cartoon-character within a cartoon thing isn't new but it's a fun way of getting through some exposition. In the fifth panel I dropped in the image of Mars from the cover of QV Vol2. I hope no one minds.

I probably could have come up with a better way to show the 3D holographic interface Diana's using. But I think this works.
Introducing Angela Martinéz. We'll be seeing more of her, although probably not in the way you're thinking. But maybe yes.

It's taken me a bit long to get all my ducks lined up for sending out the $5/$30+ patrons' copies of QUANTUM VIBE: ASSIMULATION but I have everything I need now and they'll be going out over the coming week.
To clarify: If you've been backing me at least the $5 level for at least six months as of January 2018, I'll send you a signed copy of the a...

Diana negotiates a raise for herself and goes out to celebrate. Some Coneheads take notice. (At the ink stage I put some of Diana into the last panel because it seemed to work better.)

Juan thought Diana was going to blow the deal. Instead she negotiated a better one.

So yeah, I'm switching to numbering by volume page. Fortunately I have a spreadsheet for tracking this stuff.

I'm wondering if I should just start numbering these as pages, as they will appear in the collected volume. The strip numbers I use for each volume don't conform to the update numbers on the web page, which counts all the way back to the first strip of the first volume, including all the fillers. In which case, this is Page 5 of the volume.

It's all fun and games until Alyss Roaz shows up.

I wanted to estblish some of "mundane life" in Bubbleopolis in these early installments, but not take to long to get the plot going.

When I first typed "Républicains por la Démocratie" into my plot outline, I mispelled "pour." But I didn't see the error and it got copied into several instances of this finding their way into the artwork.
My excuse is I've been looking at a lot of Spanish and Portuguese verbiage and they use "por." So sue me.

For this new volume, the format of how we split the pages up into strips changes somewhat. Now, it's three four-panel strips spread across two pages. So, the first four panels of this page are Strip 1. The last two panels on this page, and the first two on the next, are Strip 2. The last four panels of the next page are Strip 3. Etc.

I just received an email telling me that Patreon is changing who will be charged processing fees and the change will take place December 18th so it will affect the way all of you are charged at the end of this month.
I'm assuming they did this because account holders complained they couldn't predict the processing fees for the pledge...

I'm changing the format and schedule a bit. Since my donation levels have not been sufficient to keep me working on this strip full-time, I'm going to a limited schedule: Each installment will be four panels, updated Monday, Wednesday and Fr...
And the story ends with a bit of an artistic flourish.

Eithne explains her decision. Is she being coerced? Is she freely choosing her course? Something to ponder.

The denouement, in which I try to tie up all the loose ends.

Yes, obviously a rip-off of Monty Python's Black Knight sequence, but I think my twist at the end justifies it.

The inks for these strips were done on multiple layers for ease of administering background colors and patterns in Photoshop.

With all the mentions of Murphy's "Berserker Mode" you know we had to show it at some point. I guess you could call it "Checkov's Berserker Mode."
